How to fix Roblox error code 264

I guess you really can't be two places at once!

No one likes running into an error while playing Roblox; I of all people know how frustrating that can be. Luckily, most Roblox errors can be fixed in a moment's notice, including the one I'll be going over in the brief guide below, error code 264.

What is error code 264 on Roblox?

When the 264 error appears on Roblox, it will have the following message along with it: "Same account launched experience from different device. Reconnect if you prefer to use this device." To put it simply, this error occurs when you're trying to play Roblox on more than one device at a time, and you're using the same account to do it.

For example, you cannot be actively playing in a Roblox experience on your computer, while also trying to open and play Roblox on your phone if you're signed into the same account on both devices.

There are some cases, however, where Roblox can glitch and cause this error to occur on a singular device. When this happens, it's because the Roblox player failed to close properly when you exited an experience, so Roblox still thinks you're playing and won't let you join a new experience until the previous one closes. To solve this issue, your best bet is to simply restart your device. Most times, this will fix it.

If you know for sure you're not causing the error yourself, you unfortunately may have been hacked; the hacker may be playing on your account on their device while you're trying to play on your own device at the same time. But don't worry, I can help you fix this issue in just a few short steps!

When signed into your Roblox account on the Roblox website, you can view every device that your account is currently logged into and where it's located by checking the Where You're Logged In section of the Security tab in the Settings menu. If you notice a device or location you don't recognize, you can automatically log out of your account on that device by clicking the arrow next to it and then selecting Log Out of Session.

Once this is done, try loading into Roblox again—you should now be able to play like normal!
