In XDefiant, in theory you can go to the Practice Zone to try out new weapon loadouts as well as learn the basics. However, many can't access it, so let's explain how to fix that.
How to fix greyed out Practice Zone in XDefiant (Solution)
When trying to access the game modes, you may notice that the Practice Mode is greyed out. There's no way to fix it currently and Ubisoft also hasn't released or addressed a fix for this issue. Currently, there's no way to access the Practice Zone on PC or Xbox, but if you're on PlayStation 5 there is a workaround to this.
How to fix the XDefiant Practice Zone not working on PS5
To fix this issue on PS5, you'll need to start the Practice Zone activity from the XDefiant game menu. To do so, follow these instructions:
- Start up XDefiant first.
- Then, go out of the game to the PS5 home menu.
- Press down on the D-pad or left analog stick, after which the XDefiant game menu will pop up. Here, you'll notice a bunch of Activity cards including one for the Practice Zone.
- Press Square on the Activity Card and the game will load right into the Practice Zone mode. That's it.
You can also do this process without starting the game first, but I received a few errors like the UNIFORM-01 error when doing that. So, loading the game first and then starting the Practice Zone activity should let you load right into the practice zone. It's a pretty straightforward process, so you won't have any problems.
Ubisoft hasn't released a fix yet for this issue, so this seems to be the only way to access the Practice Zone at least for the PS5. No workaround exists for PC and Xbox Series X|S currently, but if they do, we will make sure to update this guide.
