Once you find the stairwell key in Dr. Gray's office, you can head down to the infirmary section of the manor. Here's how to solve the X-ray plates puzzle in Alone in the Dark so that you can figure out what happened to Jeremy.

To get to the infirmary and surgery sections of the Derceto asylum, first, you have to find a Stairwell key in Dr. Gray's office. It will be in the right drawer of his desk. However, that's not all. All the ways to the Grand Parlor and the Stairwell are blocked. It can get confusing, so here's how to complete the Jeremy X-ray puzzle in Alone in the Dark.

You'll have to head up to the Sitting room instead, where you will find MacCarfey. After he falls to the floor in the cutscene, he drops the 1st Floor Hall key, which you can pick up. I love this sequence in Emily's playthrough since MacCarfey just stays unconscious on the ground.

Once you have both keys, head down to the ground floor to open the hall. You will see the Dark Man appear at the end of the hallway, but he won't attack. The first time I played the game, I ran away, but the second time, I shot him, and he just disappeared. Now you can go through the Grand Parlor, unlock the Stairwell, and head down to the Infirmary.

In order to solve the X-ray puzzle in Alone in the Dark, you first need to find all of the radiographs. When you climb down the stairs, go down the hall and into the second room on the right. The lights will switch off, but don't worry, you'll fix it soon enough. You'll find the first plate on a bed.

When you have it, head into the Laboratory section across the hallway. The second radiograph and the Surgery room key are on the desk underneath the board. Now, you need to find two fuses in order to turn the power back on. The first Electrical fuse is on the desk to the right, next to the shelves.

The second Electrical fuse is in the Surgery room, which you can now unlock. In the room, you'll find a radio which has been playing as you were exploring. Grab the fuse from it and go to the Laboratory room. Now, you'll have to get the sequence of the switches right. This is the fastest way that I found:

  • Click the first switch
  • Click the fourth switch
  • Click the second switch

With the power back on, you can now add all of the radiographs to the board. You need to assemble the image of Jeremy's brain with some strange dark spots on it. Keep in mind that you can only use three plates.

First, grab the plate with Jeremy's name (1) and place it in the bottom slot. Make sure to rotate it so that the text can be read correctly. Then, pick up the second plate (2) and put it in the left slot. Align the dark spot on both plates to overlap. Finally, the last plate (3) goes to the right spot. You should align this one with the edges of the brain. Once you have rotated it correctly, place it on the board, and you'll complete the X-ray puzzle in Alone in the Dark and get Jeremy's Darkness.
