Obtaining the Chain Cutters

Before obtaining the Chain Cutters in the game, you must have a Wrench. Since getting this item is a lengthy process, we have made a separate article on the Wrench. Read the guide and get the Wrench before using this one. For continuation purposes, Let's assume that you have the Wrench and have it in your inventory.

To acquire the Chain Bolt Cutters in Amnesia The Bunker, you must find the cell holding the German soldier in the Prison area. If you are in the Administration Block, follow the signboards outside the room to reach the Prison area. To be more precise, the prison entrance is adjacent to the Missions Storage room.

Entering the Roman Tunnels

After obtaining the Cutters, the next step is to enter the Roman Tunnels. Enter the Arsenal area in the game. You should already be familiar with the Arsenal location as you would have traveled to that destination to get the Dynamite. Still, you can make the way to the Arsenal by following all the signboards from the Adminstration Block.

Activating and draining the Water Pump

Once you are inside the Roman Tunnels, you will find muddy water surrounding all the areas. The only way to move forward is to drain the water by using the water pump near the entrance of Roman Tunnels.

Swim across the muddy water-filled area and reach the other side of the tunnel to find a switch that turns on the water pump. It will take a while to swim to the other end.

Make sure to follow the bulbs to avoid getting lost. After powering, return and activate the water pump to drain everything out.

Dealing with the deranged soldier in the Roman Tunnels

Once all the water has been drained out, head back to the electric panel that powered the pump. You will find a small opening on the right side. Move past the wooden blocks and the metal container to enter the Roman Tunnels. As you move forward, you will find a small camp that will allow you to save your progress through the default lantern system.

After saving, it's time to hunt down the deranged soldier. You can hear his voice as you leave the camp. Follow the voice and kill him down using your pistol. You can easily defeat him if you shoot once or twice in his head. Don't get too close to him. Otherwise, you will become a victim of his shotgun.
