Unlike many of the items added, the DIY is not for purchase via Nook Miles at the Nook Shop and instead is a new item available at Nook’s Cranny. There is no announcement from Timmy and Tommy that anything new in the shop, and it is next to all of the other DIYs that have ever been unlocked, so you will have to look closely.

The item is labeled “Ladder Set-Up Kit Recipe” and costs 2,000 bells. Once you have purchased it and learned the DIY, go to any workbench to build a permanent ladder (called “Wooden ladder set-up kit”) with it. You will need 1 normal ladder and 5 wood to craft it.
