Best stowaways in Another Crab’s Treasure

These tagalongs are super helpful.

Another Crab's Treasure is a Souls-like with several different ways of upgrading your Krill. You can change out his shell, upgrade his weapon, and even get special powers from stowaways that you pick up while questing in the world.

Another Crab's Treasure Stowaway, ranked

There are a total of 68 stowaways you can find in Another Crab's Treasure, and a lot of them are great depending on how you like to play the game. However, I found 10 of these little tagalong friends to be particularly helpful during my playthrough.

10. Used Bandage and Used Bandage +

The used damage makes your healing items more potent, which is a great buff in the early game. I like to swap to this one before munching on a Heart Kelp when my health is low, but I didn't leave it on all the time. This can help you push through being poisoned and other DoT effects.

9. Whelk, Whelk+, and Whelk++

If you are focused on an Umami/MSG build, the Whelk is extremely powerful. It adds additional damage to your shell spells. The Whelk raises it by 15%, the + by 30%, and the ++ by 45%, which can make a massive difference in the amount of damage your build gives out. I ended up not focusing on Umami, but this one was one of the best stowaways I found for such a build.

8. Another Crab

Another Crab is always a good one to have in your back pocket if you are coming up on a particularly dangerous area that you just want to run through. Another Crab dies in your place, giving you a second chance at life while it is equipped.

7. Sponge and Sponge+

The Sponges are both amazing for Umami builds; whenever you attack, you regain Umami. Sponge gives 33% regeneration, and the Sponge+ gives you 67% back for each attack. If you are hoping to slam your Umami powers over and over again, the Sponge is a must-have

6. Lanternfish

I actually missed this glowing little friend on my first pass through the Unfathom, which made it so very hard to get through, and I think that's what made me put the Lanternfish on this list. The second time through the Unfathom was so much easier when I could actually see what was going on around me. This fish friend also fights alongside you and helps you deal damage to your enemies.

5. Sea Cucumber

The Sea Cucumber is just an all-around good piece of equipment when you don't know what's coming up next. It gives you a boost to all your stats and is an amazing filler for if you have a stowaway slot that you don't know what to put in it.

4. Sinker

Balance in Another Crab's Treasure is the equivalent of Poise or Posture in other Souls-like games. Breaking a creature's Balance will stun it. So if you are using the hammer along with heavy attacks, you can slam even the biggest of foes into losing their poise and becoming stunned much more often with the Sinker. It is mostly for an attack-focused build, which was my favorite in my time under the sea.

3. Rubber Band

I found the Rubber Band to be super useful whenever I came across anything with the ability to shock my Krill. While I didn't use it the whole game, I tended to put it on whenever electricity was going to be a problem, and it prevented all sorts of damage and deaths, turning powerful bosses and enemies into easy battles.

2. Lampray and Lampray +

I tempered my entire build around the hammer, and the Lamprey stowaways were incredibly powerful for it. If you have a focused attack build, the additional health drain will make you destroy most enemies in only a hit or two. 7% might not seem like a lot, but it really starts to add up as soon as you pile points into attack and focus on dealing as much damage as possible with every hit.

1. Fruit Sticker and Fruit Sticker +

My number one best overall stowaway is the Fruit Stickers. Both of these up the number of microplastics you earn in Another Crab's Treasure, which is the main currency you will need for outfits, upgrades, shell insurance, and anything else you want to buy. I had this one on for basically the entire game, only replacing the Fruit Sticker with the Fruit Sticker+ when I came across it. This is definitely the most useful stowaway in the entire game.
