Archero Best Weapons Tier List – Spear, Staff, Tornado, Scythe, Bow, or Blade?

We're taking a look at the best weapon options in the game of Archero.

Our Archero Best Weapons Guide will walk you through everything you need to know about the top tiers for weapons in this game. If you're going to make it far in this game, you're going to have to be ready with the best weaponry available. This isn't an easy game, and you will be challenged the further you make it into the chapters!

Archero Best Weapons Tier List

There's four different weapon types in the game. Each of them can be upgraded with gold and a scroll, as well as by fusing them to increase their rarity. The rarities are Common (White), Great (Green), Rare (Blue), and Epic (Purple), Perfect Epic (Purple w/Gold Border), and Legendary (Gold).

For the most part, you should generally just use the weapon of the highest rarity you own. This does a lot towards your ability to deal damage, and while there is pretty much a consensus on which weapon type is the best. You won't always have a high grade option in that category.

S-Tier: Brightspear

Brightspear is on top of the charts in terms of weapons because the "projectile" arrived at the target almost instantly. That means you will very rarely miss any of your shots if your enemy is on the move. One of the key features of this weapon occurs when you can get it to Epic rarity. You get an additional bonus that increases your damage on every hit for a certain amount. That means this weapon that pretty much guarantees a hit on each shot will get more powerful after every shot!

A-Tier: Stalker Staff

The Staff is a bit of an odd ball, because it places an orb in front of you that pauses briefly and then homes in on an enemy. It does a good amount of damage, and is actually pretty fast once you get through that initial pause of your first shot. This weapon is also pretty reliant on getting certain skills that will make it a lot better. Diagonal Arrows will fire three projectiles that will home in on enemies, which makes it a top tier option when it comes to choosing an ability while using this weapon.

Another nice bonus with the Stalker Staff is that you can get an Epic version by purchasing the Battle Pass and leveling it up!

A-Tier: Death Scythe

The Scythe is a strong DPS option, particularly later in the game. It has an included knock back ability that will keep monsters off of you. The knock back ability is pretty valuable, because it's not something you can gain as an ability. This also does quite a bit of damage, which is good in the later game particularly when you fight the Chapter that features nothing but bosses.

B-Tier: Tornado (Boomerang)

The Tornado is largely considered the best weapon type in the early game. It has pierce on it as a perk, and it also comes back to you which deals additional damage to your enemies. So, you are not only having the possibility of hitting multiple enemies, but you'll also get additional damage as it comes back. You can also position yourself in a way that the Tornado will return to you and hit an additional enemy along the way!

C-Tier: Saw Blade (Knife)

The Saw Blade has the fastest built-in attack speed of all of the weapons. If you value that in your weapon, then it's not a bad choice. The damage is the weakest among all of the other weapons, but again you will be making up for that with how fast you can throw these.

D-Tier: Brave Bow

The Bow is your typical all-around weapon. It does good damage, and it has a decent attack speed. It's a decent starter weapon, but it also can continue to work well in the later game if you just happen to be receiving a lot of bow drops. The Bow also has a bit of a natural knock back to it as well, it's just not as pronounced as the Scythe.

  1. I haven’t seen a single comment about the staff. To me, it’s easily the best weapon in the game. There are o ly two drawbacks that I’ve seen, and those are; The pause from when you summon your magic orb, and when you start using multiple shots, it’s harder to see certain enemy projectiles. Other than that, there is no other downfall. I find that being on the run, you can quickly stop, fire off an orb, and then continue running, and that helps so much with “knockback” or having the enemies catching up to you. Once you get more than one speed up with the staff, the pause speed doesn’t even seem to be an issue. I’ve used every weapon, and none of them compare to the massive legend that is the Stalker Staff. The best abilities (in order starting at the best) are; Multishot, Diagonal Arrows, Attack speed+1/+2, Attack Damage+1/+2, Front Arrow+1. If you get most of the extra arrows (barring side arrows), Bouncy walls becomes extremely deadly as well.

    1. I love the staff, but it really needs the right skills to be effective. If you get a poor selection, it’s inferior to the other options.

Also, with the staff, I would rate Diagonal Arrows slightly higher than Multishot, because it basically triples your attack strength against powerful enemies, whereas Multishot gives you less than double (double shots but a 10% damage reduction). Once you have a bunch of diagonal and side shots happening, then Multishot becomes really devastating.

For similar reasons, Front Arrow +1 is not a very good choice. It significantly lowers your attack strength for all shots, but only doubles your forward shots. If you have a bunch of diagonal and side arrows with bouncy walls, you may well be stronger without Front Arrow +1.

Side Arrows also work well with the Staff, since the homing ability makes them decently effective, especially if you’re surrounded (eg in short areas when enemies spawn all around you). If you can get Bouncy Walls, then Side Arrows become quite accurate even for enemies in front of you, and Rear Arrow +1 basically becomes an extra front arrow with reduced strength (but it doesn’t reduce the strength of your other arrows – and it’s at full strength if there actually is an enemy behind you).

  2. Actually the brightspear isn’t as good as u think. I have a legendary one and I still prefer my perfect epic tornado

  3. I read alot of comment of… xx is the best weapon in the game, but they are not even chapter 10+… not trying to be rude but im chapter 11 atm and im looking at this post to learn more about which is better, so i dont think you guys know anything about which weapon is the best…
    imo im playing boomerang,
Pros :- good dps because of piercing
-fast clear up in regular waves
Cons : -not so good against bosses
-you lose track of ennemies projectiles late lvls, which is a big mehhhh

    Hope it helps some…
Im chapter 11 top 5% only free to play… didnt spend 1$

  4. I am currently at 7-5 and dagger is best for me atm. Ofc id dont have the right value , but it seems to me that DPS is higher then other weapons. Small knockback is included.

One thing i dont like about ARchero is how mandatory some skills are (f.e. Multishot, Front arrow, Ricochet) and how completely useless a lot of skills is

    1. Different skills are useful with different weapons. With the staff, for example, your aim is to fill the room with shots, so Front Arrow (which reduces base attack strength) is a poor choice, but Diagonal Arrows become awesome, and if you can get Bouncy Walls, then Side Arrows and Rear Arrow also become very good. Ricochet is still nice to have, but much less critical.

Even skills like Smart are not always useless. For example, if you get it as your very first level-up, then it’s probably worthwhile, because levelling up more times means more healing.

  5. U always need crit, min crit, double att, +1 front for higher hit chance, att, min att, bounce and pierce, ats and HP’s +two bats cuz not knocking towards u…this is mostly only a way u win, just be careful with scythe while hitting enemies back, it’s easy to kill your self, also never pick up side arrows cuz of drastically reduced dmg of front, also recommend to farm lower stages for spinning wheel, gold become worth less…have luck with 300diamond chest 🙂

    1. I am using dagger all the way to 8th stage (currently stuck at 22) and will try to continue until the end

  6. to be honest all of the weapon are just the same, i see many people are underating the bow and overating the scythe but it all just the same if you really consider everything in to account, its not just the stat boost that u get at the start of the game but also the item or stat boost later in the game, ive tried every single weapon and all of them are just as good, take the bow for example, the stat boost u get while lv up in the game is very unpredictable, the bow has an average of everything so no worry picking whatever stat boost it gives you, another example is the blade, u can build higher attack or crit chance and double the attack with great speed boost in the begining, but it kinda suck if the game just gives u more speed boost, but the worst one is no doubt to be the boomerang, ricochet is one of the best upgrde in the game and provide that boomerang doesnt come back the way it hits the monster after taking the ricochet along with its bad speed makes it the worst ever .Because rarely all the mob would be align for the boomerang to be used effectively(plus its knock back are the worst by far, even more than the blade)

  7. Wait, but there’s no difference in damage between all weapons. You can check it out by equipping weapons and watching how your overall dmg is not changing. They have difference only in their own perks. And i dont know why devs gave confusing descriptions for the weapons. For example: scythe “slow atk spd, but high dmg”- ok, so we should assume that other weapons have lower dmg coz saw blade “has high atk spd and low dmg”, but it’s not true.

    1. They are probably talking about dps (damage per second) rather then overall damage

  8. One comment worth mentioning for the knife – some of the abilities ( crit, headshot) are a % chance per strike. So the faster knife allows more attempts at these. Not sure if the trade is equal to higher damage, but a valuable consideration

    1. The crit factor is irrelevant, but the headshot% would absolutely be true.

  9. Will an additional option will show up if i upgrade my bow from great to rare?

    1. I’m not sure what you are asking?

  10. BOW IS THE BEST ! — Just kidding 😅

  11. I think we could suggest to The developers add an in-game button to switch the weapon. We select Weapon A and B in the equipments, and inside the game a Button to alternate between then. Useful for normal stages vs Boss stages

  12. The thing to be considered here is crit damage.
More attack speed simply means more chances to crit.
However, knockback is also something very important.
Here is the thing, I depend more or crits than normal damage. That is why I preferred knife/boomerang to bow. Even though the boomerang has low attack speed you get more instances of damage, so it works out

    1. Do you mean headshot? Because with crit it doesn’t really matter if you have a lot of damage or attack speed, with more attack speed you will crit more but with more damage your crits will be huge

  13. Boomerang is hardly the best weapon in the game. The big bulky projectile will often blend and confuse your attacks with the enemy’s. It gets worse if you mix it with alot attack speed and your screen is just lots of these bouncing around, preventing you from seeing the enemy’s projectile attacks. Definitely not for the long run where the enemy’s attack will pretty much kill you in a few hits and having to dodge them is a must. I’ve progressed to chapter 5 and is no beginner for sure.

  14. Knife is the best weapon

      1. I will have to disagree. Scythe is by far the best. You get knock back and you also have high attack power. just add in atk spd and you are good. I use Scythe and try to get more arrows with invincible shield. i kill bosses fast when im up close with diagonal arrows and double shots. Also, I do not run into the problem with having too many weapons shot out that you cannot see the enemy projectiles. Farthest level I have completed is 5-42.

        1. I’m on 10-20 and when u get up to these levels ull see scythe blocks ur view of enemy projectiles. Bow is the way to go.

        2. I’m on chapter 7 6/10
The knife was good up until chapter 6 (I have a purple knife)
but now I highly recommend the scythe (purple).

          1. After Perfect-epic (gold corders) you will get Legendary (gold).
            good luck =)
            currently chapter 10

          2. Has anyone upgraded past gold-bordered purple? it’s called perfect epic. just made my bow that strong today. it didn’t get another effect it just got a higher level and a bit stronger I think. let me know if you guys can.

          3. I’m on chapter 7
6, stage 14 of 20. My highest items are only Blue (rare) so far. Using sythe, sythe & ghost bomb pets. I really have to get lucky and get Ricochet, multi-shot, and speed ups to get anywhere. Really tough game. But the challenge is super fun! Progress is steady. Have to go down to level 5 to farm better.

  15. Awesome guide, thanks!

    1. I have epic of every weapon and I find I’m most successful with bow. Here’s my reasoning. Bow has small projectiles so they dont block ur view of enemy projectiles nearly as much as scythe or boomerang. Also its projectile speed is faster then scythe and boomerang so you will miss moving targets less. Now you might be saying ok well what about the knife? It’s even faster attack speed. Yes but not that much, with upgrades in game bow can easily be just as fast. And now my main point I been building too, bow does alot more damage then knife, almost double. My setup has 2 wolf rings for crit which makes that bow crit damage ever so much better.
