The Sorlock is one of the best charisma-based multiclass in Baldur's Gate 3, as it can use warlock spells slots to create sorcery points and recover said slots on a short rest. However, the build isn't without its intricacies, so here is a guide on its ideal stats and spells.
Best Sorcerer Warlock Build in Baldur's Gate 3
Having your main character as a Charisma-based class has its advantages; mainly, because they'll be doing most of the talking. However, you Sorlock won't just be the face of the party, but also the main damage dealer.
This guide focuses on Eldritch Blast as a primary damage source, so you must build all the other class features around that. You can use Quickened Metamagic to cast Eldritch Blast several times a turn, as dipping into Fighter and Rogue will give you extra actions.
To maximize the damage, you will have to find gear that lowers the number needed to score a Critical Hit.

Best Race for a Sorlock in BG3
I chose my Sorlock to be a Half-Elf Drow. This gave me shield proficiencies and Drow Magic, which interested me to get the spell Darkness at level five. There's the option of choosing the Eldritch Invocation "Devil's Eyes", which allows you to see through your spell of Darkness and shoot enemies with advantage from within the shadows.
Best Stats for Sorlock in BG3
Charisma is your main priority. After that, you will need some points in Constitution and Dexterity. You can dump Strength and Intelligence, but I would keep some Wisdom to save against mind-controlling spells, and to have a decent Perception. When you've finished creating your character, your stats should look something like this:
STR | DEX | CON | INT | WIS | CHA |
8 | 16 | 14 | 8 | 12 | 16 |
Best Items for Sorlock in BG3
- For the head, I recommend the hat Birthright, purchased at Sorceries & Sundries. This gives you +2 Charisma and has no limit, which can bring your Charisma above 20.
- The Gemini Gloves will give you Adroit Caster: cantrips targeting allies or foes can target one additional creature. This lets you fire a twinned Eldritch Blast for free, once per Short Rest. These gloves are bought from Helsik at the Devil's Fee in Act 3.
- The Potent Robe lets you add your Charisma modifier to the damage dealt by cantrips. Since the build is mostly based on Eldritch Blast, this is a must have item. You need to complete the quest Rescue the Tieflings in Act 2 to get this robe as a reward from Alfira.
- If you can't get the Potent Robe, you can buy the Armour of Agility from Gloomy Fentonson at the Stormshore Armoury in Act 3. This is a medium armour AC 17, which lets you add your full Dexterity modifier. You will be having 20 AC before wearing any shields.
- After killing an enemy, the Killer's Sweetheart ring will turn your next attack into a Critical Hit. This item is found after the Self Same trial in the Gauntlet of Shar (it is laying in the ground on a balcony near a brazier).
- The boots Disintegrating Night Walkers will give you Misty Step for repositioning. These are looted from True Soul Nere in Grymforge.
- The Surgeon's Subjugation Amulet lets you Paralyze an enemy right after you score a Critical Hit. This one can be looted from Malus Thorm in Act 2.
Sorlock Leveling Guide - BG3
The approach should be turning all your spell slots into sorcery points, save a few slots level 3 to cast Haste, and a few slots level 1 to cast Hex — though never simultaneously because one would break concentration on the other.
During fights, use the first bonus action of the fight to cast Hex on an enemy. With sorcery points you can quicken you Eldritch Blast and use the extra bonus action from Thief and the Action Surge from Fighter to cast it four times in a turn.
You can drink a Potion of Speed or have an ally cast Haste on you for one more attack, as you will need your concentration for Hex most of the time. Finally, drink an Elixir of Bloodlust to gain extra actions after killing enemies.

Alternative progression for Sorlock in BG3
If you would like to have more spells, you can sacrifice the Rogue dip and the additional bonus action in exchange for two more levels of Warlock and one more level of Fighter.
This will give you two more Feats, from which you can take another score improvement and take Charisma to 20, and take Spell Sniper for the Eldritch Blast and reduce the number needed to roll a Critical Hit by 1 (this stacks with Champion's Improved Critical Hit).
