How to Fix the DirectX Graphics Card Error on PC

Use these steps to fix Battlefield 2042 errors and more.

To fix DirectX errors in Battlefield 2042, you will need to start out simple and try reinstalling your graphics cards. To do this, we recommend using DDU, as it is the best and cleanest way to remove drivers for graphics drivers.

That said, start by downloading DDU and then download the latest version of the driver for your card. You can find the latest version either by going to the brand website for your graphics card or the manufacturer's site.

Once everything is downloaded, proceed to uninstall and reinstall the new driver using DDU. When the driver is updated or reinstalled, try launching Battlefield and see if it fixed your DirectX error.

If you find nothing has changed, try rolling back your driver to the previous version or an older one and by repeating the same steps. But if you still get the same results, then try updating DirectX itself.

You can update DirectX by typing dxdiag into your windows search bar and opening the first program the appears on the screen, which is dxdiag. Run dxdiag and check if you are running the latest version of DirectX.

If you are not running the latest version of DirectX, you will need to update it. You can update your DirectX by running the check for windows update feature in window 10.

Find can find this feature by opening Windows 10 settings and locating the update section. Under updates, it will be the button at the top of list of options as shown below.

Alternatively, you can also find this page by typing update into the Windows search bar and clicking check for updates.
