Getting outfitted in armor not only adds to your survivability, but in Black Skylands, it can also give you some buffs to help you on your adventure.
To equip armor is very straightforward, but this depends if you have any. All you have to do is open up your Tablet by pressing Tab or Select and navigate to the Equipment tab. You should see three empty slots next to your guns. Each slot represents armor placement:
- Chest
- Boots
- Beltbag
Select the slot you desire, and press A or Space. This will show you the armor you have and allow you to pick one. On the left side of the screen will show you the upgrade/downgrade to your stats and what buffs the armor piece.
Acquiring armor is not an easy thing, however, as you need to build yourself an armory to do so. An Armory costs: 1x Wood, 1x Stone, and 1x Scrap Metal to construct. That is not all. Even after the armory is built, you need the materials/resources to create the armor.
The first pieces of armor you can craft are the following:
Armor Piece | Equipment Power | Materials Needed | Buff |
---|---|---|---|
Light Armor | 110 | 300 Capsules x2 Cotton x2 Scrap Metal | +16 percent max health +8 percent reduced damage from Falcons |
Light Beltbag | 100 | 250 Capsules x2 Flax x2 Scrap Metal | +1 Medkit +20 percent max ammo +12 percent max health +6 percent reduced damage from Falcons |
Light Boots | 90 | 240 Capsules x2 Cotton x2 Scrap Metal | +10 percent movement speed +25 percent sprint speed +12 percent max health +6 percent reduced damage from Falcons |
Flax you can only get from planting Flax Seeds using your farm. This is the same with cotton. Both have a small time limit that you have to wait before they are grown.
Scrap Metal can only be obtained out in the world. Sometimes you can find it lying around just to be picked up. Or you have to take down enemy ships and grab them as loot.
