There are many aspects to mastering The Penitent One in Blasphemous 2. While your weapons and Prayer Beads will assist you throughout the game, one of the most important aspects of combat is Prayers. Having the right ones equipped saved me from many boss fights and near-death situations. so let's take a look at the best Prayers in Blasphemous 2.
All Prayers in Blasphemous 2, Ranked
Prayers are divided into Quick Verses and Chants in Blasphemous 2; the former are fast spells requiring less Fervor, while the latter are more powerful but cost more Fervor. Here are the best Prayers to use in Blasphemous 2.
Best Quick Verses in Blasphemous 2
Tier | Quick Verse |
S | Galera of the Living Briar, Bleeding Miracle, Rosa of the Three Stars |
A | Liviana of the Blighted Blades, Serrana of the Kindled Hearth |
B | Bleeding Crown, Martinete of Forge and Thunder, Zejel of the Cruelest Thorn |
S Tier
Galera of the Living Briar
I love the Galera of the Living Briar Quick Verse. It drops a ball of lightning, firing out a lightning bolt and damaging multiple enemies. The Galera of the Living Briar is one of my most used Quick Verses alongside Bleeding Miracle.
Bleeding Miracle
Bleeding Miracle is one of the best Quick Verses. A fast-moving projectile that can strike multiple foes, it even returns like a boomerang, striking foes on the way back. With its potential to hit multiple enemies twice, Bleeding Miracle can dish out severe damage.
Rosa of the Three Stars
Rosa of the Three Stars is another powerful Quick Verse that can deal much damage. It fires three fireballs that spread out the further they go. Up close, it acts as a flaming shotgun and can easily drop enemies quickly.
A Tier
Liviana of the Blighted Blades
Liviana of the Blighted Blades is a powerful Quick Verse, firing multiple Miasma blades that home on enemies. However, I prefer more control over my spells, so the homing mechanic sometimes irritates me. For this reason, I prefer more reliable and easily controlled Quick Verses.
Serrana of the Kindled Hearth
While powerful, Serrana of the Kindled Hearth leaves you stationary as long as you hold the button down. It can deal good damage, but leaves you vulnerable the longer you hold onto it, and drains your Fervor rather quickly.

B Tier
Bleeding Crown
Bleeding Crown creates a burst of crimson that travels along the ground, inflicting Mystical damage. I can't recommend picking this over Bleeding Miracle, as Miracle can hit multiple enemies when cast and on the return, essentially making it twice as effective as Crown.
Martinete of Forge and Thunder
While the Martinete of Forge and Thunder can be effective at taking out aerial units, I prefer the simplicity of Galera of the Living Briar. Both attacks deal Lightning damage, but the Galera Quick Verse is easier to use.
Zejel of the Cruelest Thorn
Zejel of the Cruelest Thorn's downfall is its reliance on getting close to enemies and triggering damage on proximity. While it can be effective, it becomes less useful against agile enemies and bosses.
Best Chants in Blasphemous 2
Tier | Chant |
S | Debla of the Lights, Tiento to your Thorned Hairs, Seguiriya to the Memory of your Eyes |
A | Taranto to My Sister, Aubade to the Sleepless Iron, Peteneras to the Burial of the Lights, Jabera to the Poison of Jealousy |
B | Mirabras of the Return to Port, Chime of the Twisted One |
S Tier
Debla of the Lights
Debla of the Lights is incredibly useful, inflicting great damage and having a wide range of attacks. It strikes on either side of you and has a tall column. With this wide attack area, you can strike multiple foes multiple times.
Tiento to your Thorned Hairs
I use Tiento to your Thorned Hairs when facing multiple enemies. It acts as a temporary safeguard, preventing damage for a brief time. You need to be prepared to use this when you are in dangerous situations, but it can save your life in a pinch.
Seguiriya to the Memory of your Eyes
Stopping time temporarily makes Seguiriya to the Memory of your Eyes one of the best Chants. I've often used this to escape bad situations, heal, or just reposition myself. I recommend using this if you are having trouble with particularly powerful bosses.

A Tier
Taranto to My Sister
Using the Sarmiento & Centella has made me love Lightning damage in Blasphemous 2, so combining this with Taranto to My Sister maximizes this damage type. It strikes on either side of you, making it quite useful when you are surrounded.
Aubade to the Sleepless Iron
Aubade to the Sleepless Iron is a unique Chant, summoning an ally to help you in combat. Having an additional way to damage enemies, especially indirectly of yourself, is extremely handy when you facing multiple enemies.
Peteneras to the Burial of the Lights
Peteneras to the Burial of the Lights is a strong offensive Chant. It lingers for quite some time and can afflict a lot of damage, especially against larger enemies. It even strikes multiple enemies at once.
Jabera to the Poison of Jealousy
Jabera to the Poison of Jealousy works similarly to Peteneras to the Burial of the Lights. It deals great lingering damage and strikes multiple foes, so feel free to interchange it with the Chant above.
B Tier
Mirabras of the Return to Port
I can't recommend this Chant, as there are far better ways to travel fast throughout Cvstodia than wasting your Fervor on using Mirabras of the Return to Port.
Chime of the Twisted One
Chime of the Twisted One sounds good on paper, but it never panned out for me; I could never figure out the hit radius or the most optimal way to use this Chant, as it was so ambiguous. Overall, it felt like a waste of Fervor and I found nearly all other offensive Chants to be more effective.
