All DMZ Cigar Box Locations (Map)

Can you light cigars?

One of the essential items required to finish most Tier 1 missions in DMZ is the Cigar Box. You need around 40 to 50 Cigar Boxes to complete all character upgrades in DMZ, so you must visit specific possible spawns regularly in different matches. Here's your guide to finding them all.

Where to find all Cigar Boxes in DMZ

Like most resources in the game, there are no specific areas where the Cigar Boxes will be available each time, as they are random and can appear anywhere on the map. Still, we have collected the location of the most common areas in Al Mazrah and Ashika Island.

  • Captain Silver's Briefcase: You can find the briefcase at the following location on the map inside the cock pit of the wrecked airplane. Remember, you can only open the case if you have Captain Silver's Briefcase Key.
  • Al Sharim Pass: People have reported finding Cigar Boxes in various buildings of Al Sharim Pass on Al Mazrah.
  • Mirror Cupboards: You can find Cigar Boxes inside Mirror Cupboards on most ships and hotel rooms on Ashika Island.
  • Duffel Bags: Like Mirror Cupboards, you can also find Cigar Boxes inside Duffel Boxes on Ashika Island. Always open Duffel Bags before leaving any room.
  • Clothing: You can obtain some Cigar Boxes by scavenging clothes in the Residents Towns Center on Ashika Island.

DMZ Cigar Box Ashika Island Exact Locations

Ashika Island is the best map to find rare items like Cephalexin, Hydrogen Peroxide, Gold Skulls, and Cigar Boxes. I've found around 20 Cigar Boxes within a couple of runs by visiting specific houses and by unlocking various hidden caches on Ashika Island. Check the white circles on the map image above to see all the exact locations for Cigar Box spawns on Ashika Island.

  • Residential POI - The best and most consistent spawn for Cigar Boxes on Ashika Island is the Residential POI. The houses here have several loot caches, containers, fridges, and clothes that you must check to find this rare item.
  • Ashika Waterways (north) - The northern area of the map near Oganikku Farms has plenty of hidden caches, which you can check to find Cigar Boxes. I also recommend bringing the Water Pump Control Key, as this room has a higher spawn rate for Cigar Boxes.
  • Shipwreck - The two ships at the Shipwreck POI has a few toolboxes and duffle bags where Cigar Boxes spawn. You can check these two locations regularly to get this item.

  • Port Ashika - Port Ashika is another POI where you will have a better shot at getting Cigar Boxes by looting different caches and crates. This area is swarming with AI forces, and you must use a Stronghold Keycard to check all the small houses in this region.
  • Tsuki Castle - Smaller houses around Tsuki Castle are also good spots to find Cigar Boxes. You can always try searching in the Bombmaker's building, but I recommend doing it with a squad.
  • Beach Club - The small bath house on the Beach Club POI is another spot where you can find Ashika Liquor and Cigar Boxes.

Most of the Cigar Box spawns are towards the northeastern side of Ashika Island. It's best to search for this item with a squad, as the enemy operators and AI forces can be overwhelming on this map.
