Exfil Tracking is the final Tier 3 story mission for the Crown Faction in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 DMZ. It's one of the most challenging missions in the game that tasks you to plant trackers on exfil choppers called in by enemy squads.
How to complete the Exfil Tracking mission in DMZ
- Take the 4 tracking devices from the Zarqwa Hydroelectric Dead Drop.
- Plant a tracker on 3 enemy exfil choppers in one deployment.
- Plant a tracker on the final exfil chopper in the same deployment.
How to get the tracking devices from the Zarqwa Hydroelectric Dead Drop
First off, you need to pick up the four tracking devices from the Zarqwa Hydroelectric Dead Drop, which is placed behind the POI's southern gas station. You may recall this dumpster from the Medical Mule mission for the Tier 3 White Lotus Faction.

How to plant trackers on enemy exfil choppers
Now comes the difficult part of the mission after you've acquired the tracking devices. You need to plant these trackers on three exfil helicopters that enemy squads have called in. There are three different exfil points on the Al Mazrah map every game. Pick an exfil that you think will be busy and most used by enemy players. Set camp in a nearby building or any other secure vantage point.
If you have two exfils close by, that's even better because you can move between them easily using a vehicle. Wait near an exfil for an enemy squad to call in the evac helo. You'll know when an exfil is called by the green flare in the sky above the exfil point. The tracker can only be planted under the left wing of the exfil chopper as shown in the image above.
Now, there are three approaches that you can use to plant the tracker on the helicopter:
- Interact with the enemy team using proximity voice chat and let them know about your mission. Assure them you're friendly and if they agree, you can reveal yourself. This method is a bit risky since you may get betrayed by the enemy players.
- Instead, you can simply engage the enemy squad and take them out if you're feeling confident with your gear and weapons.
- The best way, especially for solo players, is the stealth approach that requires you to stay hidden until the chopper lands. Once the enemies have entered the bird, throw down Smoke Grenades and make your way to the exfil helo. For this method to work, the exfil must be close to some sort of cover, like a building or bushes, in which you can hide. Also, use an operator skin that blends in easily instead of the ones with flashy colors.
How to plant a tracker on the final exfil chopper
After you've successfully managed to plant tracking devices on three enemy exfil helos, it's time to wait until the radiation zone starts spreading. Once all three exfil points have been engulfed by the radiation, the final exfil point will be marked and an evac chopper will be sent there. Your objective is to head there and plant the fourth tracker on the final exfil chopper, the same way you did before.

It doesn't matter if you get killed after planting the tracker onto the final exfil bird, as there is no requirement to extract for this challenge. Completing the Exfil Tracking mission will unlock the Tier 4 missions for the Crown Faction. Furthermore, you also get the Foxtrot operator skin for Reyes as a free reward.
