How to recruit Nikki in Chrono Cross: Radical Dreamers Edition

45 playable characters await you in Chrono Cross, giving you ample opportunity to create the perfect team. However, once you get to Termina, you'll soon find that you need someone who knows the way to Viper Manor. You can choose one of three new recruits at this point—Guile, Pierre, or Nikki—but choosing one will lock the other two out of your playthrough. Here's how to recruit Nikki in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition.

Where to find and recruit Nikki in Chrono Cross

First, you have to talk to the man polishing the statue up the stairs from the Termina entrance. After he tells you there's no way into Viper Manor, head to the west area of Termina, left of the bar, and climb the stairs to board the ship. Speak to the man behind the table, and then Miki will enter. She'll tell you Nikki went to the Shadow Forest, so choose to help get him back.

Enter the Shadow Forest, east of Termina, from the World Map. You'll see Nikki in the second area, singing to a monster, but he runs away to the left. Follow him to the next area, and you'll find him under attack by Cassowaries! Engage them in battle, and save Nikki.

Once you do, he won't seem that grateful. Follow Nikki again under the waterfall, where he will finally agree to join your "band." Nikki's stats are average, and he'll be a solid addition to your party when you head on to Viper Manor. If you change your mind about Nikki, you can always take an alternate path with a different save file, or have more fun with New Game+.
