How to recruit Pierre in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition

He works so hard in the mirror!

45 playable characters await you in Chrono Cross, giving you ample opportunity to create the perfect team. However, once you get to Termina, you'll soon find that you need someone who knows the way to Viper Manor. You can choose one of three new recruits at this point—Guile, Pierre, or Nikki—but choosing one will lock the other two out of your playthrough. Here's how to recruit Pierre in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition.

Where to find and recruit Pierre

Once you make your way to Termina in Another World for the first time, you can find Pierre at Zappa's Smithy. He'll be in the backroom preening himself in the mirror. Talk to him, and he'll tell you he's lost his Hero's Medal.

If you walk out back behind Zappa's Smithy, you'll see a boy running in circles. He has the Hero's Medal, but you can't get it yet! You'll need to head back to Termina proper, where you entered the town, and speak to the man polishing the statue at the top of the stairs.

Now, you can get the Hero's Medal from the boy, but simply speaking with Pierre after you get it isn't enough. You need to stand next to him and use the key item, Hero's Medal, with the Square or Y button—depending on your console. Speak to Pierre again, and you'll have the option of recruiting him.

Pierre will be a decent help at Viper Manor, and his stats are fair. Later in the game, you'll have the opportunity of completing his full Hero's Set, which makes him a powerful force in battle.
