If you like a particular weapon in Cyberpunk 2077, you can upgrade it to make it even better. Upgrading can improve a specific statistic of that weapon, such as damage, attack speed, range, and others. Here's how you can upgrade your guns in the game.
How to upgrade your weapons in Cyberpunk 2077
To upgrade weapons in Cyberpunk 2077, open your Inventory, go to Crafting, and select the Upgrades tab on the top. Note you can only upgrade Iconic weapons by using Item Components after the 2.0 update. For instance, I was able to upgrade my Tier 5+ Iconic Rasetsu sniper to Tier 5++ (though it cost me a whopping 200 Tier 5 Item Components).

Where to find Item Components in Cyberpunk 2077
There are five tiers of Item Components available in the game. The higher-tier ones are harder to come by, so I advise you to spend them wisely. Here are four different ways you can acquire Item Components in Cyberpunk 2077:
- Loot from dead enemies: After you kill a batch of enemies, make sure to check their bodies for Item Components as well as some other useful items.
- Loot from boxes: While completing quests and exploring Night City, you'll find random loot crates or boxes with useful gear as well as Item Components.
- Disassemble gear: You can disassemble useless clothes and weapons in your inventory. Higher-tier gear yields better Item Components.
- Craft Item Components: You can craft high-tier components by spending some low-tier components in the Crafting menu.
