The Dead Island Twitter states, "You asked for it, you got it. Dead Island 2 went gold and it's coming out a week early.  See you in HELL-A on April 21, 2023." Dead Island 2 has been in the works for a long time, and Dead Island fans have practically been dead waiting, so this news is a pleasant surprise.

Dead Island 2 follows up the humorous zombie-infested island with a trip to HELL-A on April 21, 2023, instead of the initial release date of April 28, 2023. Fans can take on the undead with one of the various slayers found in this new living dead adventure.

Going gold means the game's main development is officially complete, and all that remains is waiting for the manufacturing phase. Once this is complete, Dead Island 2 will ship out, and players can swing, cleave, and shoot their way through hordes of undead.
