Destiny 2 has plenty of combat medals and achievements to be earned. Some medals are harder to get than others. The Close Encounters Medal is a tough and frustrating one that usually stands in the way of the Deadeye Seal. To get this medal, you have to defeat two opponents at close range with a shotgun without switching weapons or reloading. However, it isn't that straightforward. Read more below to find out why.
How to get Close Encounters Medal in Destiny 2
In order to successfully get the Close Encounters Medal in Destiny 2, you have to be very close to the opponent that you're trying to kill. Sometimes, it is hard to tell how far is too far. The best way to tell is to not aim down the sight on your shotgun. Another way to be sure you're close enough is to use a different shotgun than the slug shotgun. The slug shotgun has a higher range than other shotguns, so you'll always be tempted to shoot from a farther distance than you're supposed to.

If you have the stealth Guardian class, Hunter, you should use that instead of any other. Since this allows you to get close to the enemies without drawing their attention to you.
That's all you have to do to ensure you get the Close Encounters Medal in Destiny 2. Get very close, shoot the enemy without reloading or switching weapons, then progress to the next enemy immediately and repeat the process.
