How to get the Luminous Void Shader in Destiny 2

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits, Tess Everis.

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times: "The fashion game is the end game." While Destiny 2 might have a more restrictive transmog system in place when compared to many other titles, it's still there. Shaders go a long way in allowing players to craft their Guardian. The Luminous Void Shader is one that really makes a Guardian stand out. Here's how to get it.

Where to find the Luminous Void Shader in Destiny 2

At the time of this writing, the Luminous Void Shader is part of the Eververse's weekly refresh. There's no pattern or schedule the storefront follows, so players will need to be vigilant if they want to add this otherworldly shader to their collection. When it does appear, the Shader can be purchased for 300 Bright Dust.

When the Luminous Void Shader was first introduced to Destiny 2, it was part of the Volatile Throne Bundle, which sold for 1000 Silver (roughly $10). Aside from the Shader, it also included the Infinite Quiver Weapon Ornament for Le Monarque and the Platonic Projection Ghost Projection.

This bundle was released in August 2023 during Season of the Witch and had the community divided. On the one hand, it was a really cool shader. On the other hand, it was essentially paying $10 for a Shader.

This wasn't the first time Bungie had done this as the concept of a really cool shader locked behind a real money bundle was floated with the Bad Ahamkara Bundle in February 2023 during Season of Defiance. It was clear that the experiment was a success and Bungie would move forward with similar bundles.

However, in a move that rubbed salt in the wound for those who forked over the cash, Bungie moved the Luminous Void Shader outside of the bundle and made it available for the new 300 Bright Dust price point five months later in January 2024. Additionally, at the time of this writing, the Volatile Throne Bundle is no longer in the Eververse, meaning players must hope the Shader rotates back around to acquire it.

Thus concludes another tall of confusing business decisions by Bungie. Stay tuned for more as we draw closer to the release of The Final Shape.
