5 tips to prepare for The Witch Queen in Destiny 2

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

The Witch Queen will be Destiny 2's biggest expansion in the past few years, and many players may be wondering what they should do in order to get ready for the expansion before it releases on Feb. 22, 2022. Here are five tips to prepare for the With Queen in Destiny 2.

Play the Story

As obvious as it sounds, players will want to make sure they are caught up on all of the story content before The Witch Queen drops. This includes all of the previous expansions that are still playable, as well as the seasonal story content from the Season of the Hunt up to the Season of the Lost.

Savathun, the main antagonist of The Witch Queen expansion, has long been woven into Destiny lore and is said to have been setting up dominos for the past seven years, all of which are set to fall in The Witch Queen. It's be best to get all caught up so that you are not lost when playing through this expansion.

Complete Seasonal Triumphs

All of the Triumphs associated with the past four seasons will be unobtainable after The Witch Queen releases. Over 280 triumphs, as well as all titles and rewards that can be earned by completing these triumphs, will no longer be available. You will want to make sure you complete any triumphs you may have left or have been working toward.

Dead Man's Tale and Hawkmoon Exotics

Dead Man's Tale and Hawkmoon are great exotics that were added to Destiny 2 over the course of the past four seasons. What's more, these exotics brought with them some of the best exotic quests that Destiny has ever seen.

Unfortunately, the quests will be unplayable after the new expansion releases, so you will want to make sure to play through them before they are gone. It is also a good idea to farm God Rolls of these weapons. Both weapons can have randomized rolls, so each time you complete the quest, you have a chance at getting a God Roll.

Gather Materials

It is always a good idea to hoard some materials before heading into a new Destiny 2 expansion. Gathering materials such as planetary resources, Upgrade Modules, and Enhancement Cores and Prisms will help to make the transition into new content much smoother. With the addition of many new weapons and armor pieces, you'll need a good stockpile of resources to upgrade these items upon receiving them.

Clean out your Vault

Vault space in Destiny 2 is limited, with only 500 slots to store weapons and armor. Most players will already be nearing capacity with their Vaults, so it is always smart to clear out any unwanted or unneeded gear before heading into new content. Prime items to get rid of are things you are never planning on using again or have no sentimental value to you.

It's also helpful to know that Ghosts and Ships do not need to be stored in your vault, as they can be reacquired from Collections for a small price. Take your time with this, as it can be a tough process. Though we can promise you, you do not need all of it.

With these tips, you will be ready to take on Savathun and her Hive light-bearers when The Witch Queen drops on Feb. 22, 2022.
