Everything we know about Detective Pikachu Returns
Tim Goodman and his Pokémon companion, Detective Pikachu, return in a sequel to the original Detective Pikachu game. An adventure and puzzle game that sees you explore the city and find clues, it’s expected that the sequel will play similarly to the original, albeit with a brand new story to uncover, and new mysteries to solve!
Several Pokémon will be available to help Pikachu and Tim get past obstacles in the game. Galarian Darmanitan can break rocks, Growlithe can trace scents, and Luxray can peer through walls with X-ray vision.
Detective Pikachu Returns release date
As per the Nintendo Direct, Detective Pikachu Returns is scheduled for release on October 6, 2023.

Detective Pikachu Returns Story
The story of Detective Pikachu Returns appears to follow up on the first game. The detective duo is tasked with tracking down culprits who threaten the unity of Pokémon and humans in Ryme City ahead of Pokémon Friendship Week. At the center of the story will be Tim Goodman's father, Harry, who has apparently gone missing.

Detective Pikachu, like most new Pokémon games, is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch.
