The error mainly arises when players try to create a new game or enter into an existing run. The most common fix for error 3002 ranges from a simple restart to adding custom command line arguments inside the game launcher.

  • Restarting your PC: Before doing anything, restart your PC along with your router once. Many players have fixed the error by simply restarting Diablo 3. So, do this before attempting any of the other solutions.
  • Updating your game files: The developers of Diablo 3 are known for pushing minor updates often. So, there is a high chance that the game may display the error 3002 if you have not updated to its latest version. Close everything and click on the Diablo 3 icon. Now, click on the Options button and choose Scan & Repair to update the game.
  • Adding custom command line argument: According to a Blizzard support post, adding the following command line argument may fix the problem. Click on settings from the main menu and select game settings. Choose Additional command line arguments, and in the textbox, add OnlineService.Matchmaking.ServerPool=Default. Press the done button and restart your Blizzard launcher.

Remember, you can always raise a query or ticket on the Blizzard Support Page if the problem continues to persist for more than three days.
