How to solve the Mechanical Eye door puzzle Disney Dreamlight Valley

The Dark Castle quest is one of the last quests of The Remembering, and it's time to come face to face with The Forgetting at last. But first, there are multiple puzzles to complete to navigate your way through this Night Thorn-infested palace. You need to get through three doors, each requiring a different task. The third door appears to be invisible and requires a "mechanical eye" to see it clearly. This puzzle had me stumped at first glance too, but don't worry; we got you covered with how you solve it as quickly as possible!

How to get through the Mechanical Eye door in the Dark Castle in Dreamlight Valley

Once you get to the third door in the Dark Castle, you'll literally run into a brick wall. There's no doorway in sight, like the previous two, but according to the little handy note clue, you'll need the "blink of a mechanical eye" to unlock the way. Right away, I assumed this meant searching the area for an item you can use. So you don't have your time wasted; you have precisely what you need already on you—your camera. All you need to do is press the Capture button!

This is very similar to Fairy Godmother's level 7 Friendship quest, "Bibbidi-Boppidi-Oops," in which items mysteriously appear around the Valley and can be unveiled using the special camera lens. However, you won't need to lens to make it work. All you have to do is open your camera in your Tool Wheel and take a selfie, or any camera perspective, with the empty doorway in the background. Once you press Capture, the door will suddenly appear behind you and allow you to pass through to the next section of the castle.
