How to get Woodland Wordsmith’s Tome in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Don't make the same mistake as me giving Cecilia a bunch of gifts, only not to give me the Tome.

Upon setting foot in the magical city of the elves, the Sacred Arbor, you'll likely have Glyndwr translate the Elvish Language for you. Upon completing his questline, you have no option but to find a Pawn in the Rift with the Woodland Wordsmith's Specialization.

The problem with hiring a Pawn dedicated to Woodland Wordsmith is they are very low-level. In this guide, I'll explain how to get the Woodland Wordsmith's Tome in Dragon's Dogma 2, so you don't have to hire a random pawn that doesn't fit your party.

To get the Woodland Wordsmith Tome, you need to befriend the inn-keeper, Kough, in Sacred Arbor. I easily achieved this by giving her a bunch of Sunblooms and Moonglow every day for about two to three days.

On the third day, Kough will approach you once you enter the inn and give you the Woodland Wordsmith Tome. You can manually consume the Tome to give your main pawn the Woodland Wordsmith Specialization.

After doing so, you can dispatch your low-leveled pawn and hire a more powerful one with any Specialization while still being able to understand the Elvish Language!

Specializations are a new addition to the Dragon's Dogma franchise. Instead of having two Pawn Inclinations, you have only one and a Specialization. These Specializations are tricky to come by, as you'll need to befriend specific NPCs by giving them gifts in order to claim their respective Tomes.

The Woodland Wordsmith is especially useful in the Sacred Arbor as you'll need the Specialization to even automatically translate the Elvish Language. Without the Specialization, you'll only read a bunch of gibberish-looking characters, even when interacting with Elven Merchants.
