How to mod Dragon’s Dogma 2

Honestly, I'm hoping for an optimization mod for DD2

Dragon's Dogma—Dark Arisen has some of the most fun and game-changing mods, which made me dedicate an entire playthrough purely with mods. Many people may be wondering if modding is possible in the sequel, so here's how to mod Dragon's Dogma 2.

How to install mods in Dragon's Dogma 2

I'm very surprised by the dedication of the modding community for Dragon's Dogma 2. Mods were already available as early as the character creation came out, allowing players to make iconic characters like Geralt for their playthroughs. For mod installations, the Fluffy Mod Manager will be your friend.

Most of the mods currently in NexusMods for Dragon's Dogma 2 consist of texture replacement paks for characters, tattoos, and brand-new hairstyles, but there are exceptions, like a simple item data mod. Here are the steps to install mods for Dragon's Dogma 2:

  1. Download Fluffy Mod Manager
  2. Extract the Fluffy Mod Manager, run Modmanager.exe, and select Dragon's Dogma 2 as the game.
  3. You can download any mods you like. For this guide, I downloaded the Item Tweaks mod.
  4. Some mods, like the Item Tweaks mod, do not require an extraction process (Read the mod installation instructions page). Simply drag and drop the zip file onto the mod manager, and it will automatically display the mod's name and options.
  5. The last step is to enable your mod through the mod manager and launch the game.

With Dragon's Dogma 2 released, the Fluffy Mod Manager now works with the full game, allowing you to display your modded character from the Character Creations demo fully. In my case, I installed an item data mod which modifies the data of all items in-game, allowing me to sell for more gold and buy items for a lot less.
