How to cook in Eastward

Cooking is good for the soul.

Cooking can be a relaxing minigame in video games. Eastward features a cooking system that is similar to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's cooking system. It even has fun little sound effects that play as you cook.

To start cooking in Eastward, you will need three ingredients. Each recipe requires at least three, and they can be any combination. You can add additional spices to enhance your meals, too. After all ingredients are put into John's frying pan, you will then play a slot machine minigame. After that, your meal will be ready!

Some recipes call for specific ingredients while others just call for any kind of vegetable. Enhancing recipes with spices will add effects such as increasing armor once you consume the food. Eastward's cooking system really lets you have fun with its slot machine minigame. Lining up two icons will increase the food's reward, while matching icons will enhance the food even more.

It's important to cook in Eastward as this is the primary way to heal John or restore Sam's energy. You never know when you will need to stop mid-fight and take a bite. For a little bit of gross humor, remember that the frying pan you cook with is the same one that John smashes enemies with.
