How to earn Salt fast in Eastward Octopia

Salt is the main currency in Eastward and is used for just about everything: buying supplies, building projects, and cooking. To continue progressing your farm, you'll need plenty of it. You can occasionally find specks of Salt on the ground to pick up, but if you want to make the big bucks, there are some ways to do so more efficiently.

Selling Meals

John is a talented chef, so why not make the most of it? You can cook various meals with the crops you grow and other ingredients you find around Octopia. The higher the star-tier meal you make, the more it will sell for. I found that meals sell for a lot more than just the ingredients themselves; some meals can even sell for up to 300 Salt each at William's Trading Post.

Cooking will also help you progress your Recipe book, plus you can do so every day with the ingredients you can find and grow. Using Honey and Eggs is even better once you have the Beehives and Chicken Coop because you'll always have those to harvest, so it's a great way to keep a constant flow of Salt coming in.

Fishing

Fishing is another activity you want to do every day and multiple times if you have some bait. Some fish can sell for quite a bit of Salt, or tie it in with the method above and make some meals with them and increase their value further.

The best way to earn Salt from fish is to wait for a rainy day. On rainy days, there will be a lot more fish available to catch, allowing you to increase your sales and make more Salt. The higher the rarity fish, the more they will sell for, so go for those purple or greater fish as much as possible!

Harvesting

Besides the crops you're growing on your farm and the fish you can catch in the water, there are also ingredients you can harvest in the wild. The swamp, in particular, has roots and snails that you can pick up daily. These can either be used to make some meals or sell them to boost your income. As a daily activity, this profit can really add up, or make up for the amount you need to spend on supplies for the day.

Selling Crops

Another excellent profit-making method (shoutout to Reddit user Yojimbu) is to sell Sweet Potato crops after running them through the Mill. Sweet Potatoes grow in only 2 days, being some of the fastest of the crops, and breaking them down in the Mill will create Vermicelli. Once you make it into Vermicelli, it will sell for about double the price you bought the seeds for. Keep this up every day and you will have a ton of Salt saved up.

These are just a few ways you can earn Salt more quickly, but there are other ways you can make it work for you as well. As you progress further in the game, more opportunities open up to you, so stay diligent!
