How to beat Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy in Elden Ring

How do you defeat this slithery boss?

There are many challenging fights in Elden Ring, and Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, ranks as one of the most difficult, especially if encountered at a low level. You will break up Rykard's fight into two different phases. The first phase makes players fight the Serpent version of the boss that will once defeated, Rykard during phase two.

At the start of the battle, players will be given the Serpent-Hunter weapon. This weapon has no attribute requirements and is essential to defeating Rykard, especially in the first phase. The sword will allow players to blast the boss with gusts of slicing wind from an enormous distance away. Players should be sure to equip this weapon as soon as it is obtained.

Rykard's lair is in a volcanic area, and the boss will employ a lot of fire-based attacks. Because Rykard's model is based on a serpent, he will also use poison-based attacks. Both of these types of attacks can damage players over time and should be avoided at all costs. Learning Rykard's movements to know when he is about to use one of these moves is important.

As with other fights, bringing a strong Spirit Ash into battle can help take the focus off of the player, giving them ample time to attack the boss. The Mimic Tear summon does incredibly well in this fight and can be a useful tool against Rykard.
