What items should you buy from Kale at the Church of Elleh in Elden Ring?

In Elden Ring, players will come across several NPCs at various locations that buy and sell essential items. Merchant Kalé is one of the most important NPCs players will meet during the early phases of the game at the Church Of Elleh location at Limgrave.

Kalé sells several items, and players will need to have enough Runes to purchase these items. The following list features the most essential items players should get early on from Merchant Kalé:

• Torch (200 Runes) - Acts as a light while venturing dark areas, and can fire-damage enemies briefly 
• Crafting Kit (300 Runes) - Players cannot craft in-game without purchasing this item first 
• Cracked Pot (300 Runes) - Container required for crafting cracked pot items
• Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook (500 Runes) - Provides players with crafting recipes
• Missionary Cookbook (1000 Runes) - Expands crafting repertoire

Finding more Golden Runes will allow you to acquire numerous Runes at once. Players can also purchase the following armors depending on the number of Runes they have collected:

• Chain Legging (1000 Runes) - Basic chain armor to cover legs
• Chain Gauntlet (1000 Runes) - Basic heavy chain armor gloves
• Chain Armor (1500 Runes) - Basic medium-load heavy chain armor

You can also sell items found throughout the expedition to Kalé in exchange for Runes. Merchant Kalé is one of the very first NPCs players will encounter in Elden Ring. Interacting with the NPC will reveal more about his background story and relation with the Tarnished. Kalé is voiced by Nabil Elouahabi, who is also popular for his role as Cypher in Valorant.
