Elden Ring is an action RPG that allows players to build the character of their preference as they venture through The Lands Between. One of the first choices players will make on their journey is what Keepsake they'll take with them when they head out into Elden Ring's open world. Each Keepsake has a different impact on the player, making this choice important.
Each Keepsake at the beginning of Elden Ring and its effects is shown below:
Image | Keepsake | Effect |
---|---|---|
Crimson Amber Medallion | Increases your maximum HP. | |
Lands Between Rune | When used, it gives players an allotment of Runes. | |
Golden Seed | Used to upgrade the Sacred Flask players use to replenish health. | |
Fanged Imp Ashes | Summons creatures to fight as allies in battle. | |
Cracked Pot | Item used to craft consumables. | |
Stonesword Key | Used to break one imp statue seal. It breaks when used. | |
Bewitching Branch | Uses FP to charm pierced enemies. | |
Boiled Prawn | Temporarily boosts physical damage negation. | |
Shabriri's Woe | Constantly attracts enemy attention. | |
None | Those looking for an additional challenge can begin Elden Ring without a Keepsake. |
Which item players choose ultimately boils down to personal preference. We chose the Golden Seed for a quick upgrade to the Sacred Flask at the advent of our adventure.
