How to Defeat Kaban in Escape From Tarkov

After more than ten months, Escape From Tarkov is finally receiving its first wipe of 2023. With every wipe, you can always expect new content in the form of scav bosses, weapons, and map expansion. The latest wipe is no different, as the developers have added the most brutal and formidable scav boss in EFT history called Kaban. The new boss lives inside an auto dealer store on the Streets of Tarkov POI with tight security. To kill the almighty Kaban in Escape from Tarkov, you must carefully eliminate his guards and then kill him using any high-piercing ammo like 7.62×39mm.

Where is Kaban in Escape From Tarkov?

You can find Kaban inside the Lexos auto dealer shop in the northeastern part of the Streets of Tarkov map. You can see the below image for a pictorial representation of the spawn location.

How to eliminate Kaban in Escape From Tarkov

Before diving inside the Streets of Tarkov map, equip the following set of items/weapons for the mission:

• Any assault rifle that uses 7.62×39mm, like AKM, MK 47, or RD -704. Make sure to equip x2 scope or more on these guns to fight from medium to close range.  
• Any snipers of your choice. I suggest going for SV-98 or Mosin.
• Vital healing items in case you step on a landmine.

I highly recommend using this loadout as you must kill several guards wearing level 4 or 5 armor, including the main boss, who has 85 Head HP,  355 Thorax HP, and 1300 Base HP. Still, you can go for any other weapons if you are comfortable with them.

After equipping the given loadout, load it into the maps. Go to the Lexos building via Chekannaya Street from the north side. Please do not go through any other grass path as it's laid with various claymores. Use only the concrete road paths and reach the entrance of the building.

Bait one or two guards at the entrance section by slightly peeking towards the right side. They will start rushing outside, and you can camp-kill them. Remember, the guards can shoot from the top of the building. So, ensure to take proper angles while fighting. 

After killing these rushing guards, use your sniper to kill the guard holding the automatic machine gun at the center. Don't peek too much, have a sly look and aim at his head to take him off. Alternatively, you can throw a grenade at the guy if you can judge distances accurately.

Now, enter the premises. From here, it's all about moving slowly and finding Kaban. You can usually find Kaban on either side of the open garage sheds. Peek and look for Kaban on either side. You can quickly identify Kaban as he would be bald and won't be wearing any headgear. Once you find Kaban, target his head and take a couple of shots to kill him, as he has nearly 1300 HP. Loot his body and get out of the place. If you find any of his scav guards trailing, use the PKP machine gun taken from Kaban and have a blast shooting at them.

If you find the entire ordeal tiring, you can always call a couple of your in-game friends to make the task easier.

Kaban Boss Loot Drop - Escape From Tarkov

After eliminating Kaban, you can pick up some of the following loot from his body.

• PKP "Pecheneg" 7.62x54R machine gun with a hundred-round magazine
• RPK-16 5.45x39 light machine gun
• Makarov PM 9x18PM pistol
• Vaseline
• Immobilizing Splint
• Golden Star Balm
• Random Keycards

Remember, you may or not get the above items as the spawn will vary from player to player and time.
