If you want to craft legendary weapons and items in Fallout 76, you will need to get Legendary Modules.
Legendary Modules are a unique resource that players can use to craft legendary items via a workbench; you can also get these for 50 scrip from the Purveyor Murmrgh in the Rusty Pick.
However, if you don't have any scrip, you can farm the currency from doing various activities in the game, such as the following.
- Daily Ops
- Daily Quests
- Legendary Exchange Machines
Overall, if you need modules but don't have scrip, the quickest way to get the scrip would be to use a legendary exchange machine. These machines are unique stations you can use to exchange legendary items you don't want for scrip. You can also find these machines usually around major settlements and train stations in the game.
Along with this, the higher the rating of the legendary item exchanged, the more scrip you will get. Because of that, we definitely recommend this option as the quickest way to solve your scrip shortage needs.

That being said, once you have the required amount of scrip, you can purchase legendary modules and then use them in various crafting recipes for legendary items that require modules.
But this is not the extent of legendary crafting as just recently added was a second option to craft legendary items. This second option is via the use of legendary cores. Legendary cores are a new resource that was just recently added with the Steel Reign update that allows players to add legendary effects to non-legendary items.
To use legendary cores, you will need to craft legendary mods with them and legendary modules, and then use the legendary mods to turn non-legendary items into legendary ones. If this interests you, you can get these cores via daily quests, ops, and even events.
