Is Fallout 76 online only?

Fallout 76 is always up and running.

Fallout 76 is Bethesda's MMO set within the Fallout series. With constant updates, there is plenty of content to keep Fallout fans coming back repeatedly. However, with it being an MMO, you may be wondering if there is a way to play Fallout 76 offline or if it is online only.

Fallout 76 is an online-only game. This MMO takes place within the Fallout universe, specifically in the Appalachian Mountains. While previous Fallout games were single-player and offline, Fallout 76 focuses on an online multiplayer experience.

Can you play Fallout 76 offline?

No, there is no way to play Fallout 76 offline. However, you can get a private server that you can play alone or with seven friends. To do this, you must become a Fallout First member. This gives you various bonuses, one of which is your own private server.

While you cannot play offline, this is the closest you can get. Having a private server means that you do not have to deal with other players and can invite only those you wish to play with. This can recreate the feeling of being alone, like in Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, and Fallout 4.
