Best builds for Cait Sith in FF7 Rebirth

We have a lineup of useful builds to fully utilize Cait Sith's potential. Choose one that suits your playstyle or synergizes with the rest of your party members!

Buff Party Build

Given Cait Sith's tools and abilities, he strives to strengthen your party's defense and offense stats while still capable of dealing decent damage to the enemy.

SlotsEquipment Name
WeaponYellow Megaphone
ArmorBeguiling Armlet
AccessorySpectral Cogwheel/Safety Bit/Lucky Amulet
SummonPhoenix
Materia 1 (Weapon)Barrier
Materia 2 (Weapon)Magnify
Materia 3 (Weapon)Luck Up
Materia 4 (Weapon)MP Up
Materia 1 (Armor)Time
Materia 2 (Armor)Magnify
Materia 3 (Armor)Cleansing
Materia 4 (Armor)Prayer
Weapon Skills 1MP Recovery Rate Up
Weapon Skills 2Lucky Jockey
Spell Shortcut 1 (L1 + Square)Let's Ride!
Spell Shortcut 2 (L1 + Triangle)Roll o' the Dice
Spell Shortcut 3 (L1 + Circle)Dodge 'n' Dive
Spell Shortcut 4 (L1 + X)Prayer

Since Cait Sith will primarily support your party with multiple buffs, here are the Folio Nodes I recommend for this build:

  • SOLDIER Moogle Class
  • Weapon Ability Damage Up
  • All Out Assault
  • Max HP Up
  • ATB Charge Rate Up
  • Moogle Sentinel
  • MP Recovery Rate Up
  • Max MP Up
  • Opening ATB Bonus
  • Mayhem-Go-Round
  • Elemental Defense Up
  • Stagger Siphon
  • Enhanced Guard
  • Moogle Head Start
  • Lucky Jockey

The last two nodes on the list above provide 100 luck while you're riding your Moogle and grant you an instant Tier 2 Moogle Level. This means you can instantly cast enfeebling abilities right from the beginning of the fight!

During the fight, your main goal is to always build up two ATB gauges for Prayer if needed. If you see your teammates with a lot of HP left and no powerful attack is coming your way, buff your teammates with Manawall and Hastega.

Another thing to note is Cait Sith can also deal damage to charge up his unique weapon ability. One Moogle Level will let you cast all-party buffs like Bravery and Faith, Protect and Shell, or Berserk. However, you do not have any control over which of these buffs will appear, as it's all based on RNG.

Regardless, this Cait Sith Build is beginner-friendly and doesn't require much effort. He only does one job, and that's to buff everyone!

Enfeeble Build

The Enfeeble build is the exact opposite of the Buff Party, as it explores enfeeble abilities (debuffs) onto enemies, rather than empowering your party members.

SlotsEquipment Name
WeaponYellow Megaphone
ArmorBeguiling Armlet
AccessoryPsychic's Charm/Spectral Cogwheel/Safety Bit
SummonPhoenix
Materia 1 (Weapon)Enervation
Materia 2 (Weapon)Magnify
Materia 3 (Weapon)Luck Up
Materia 4 (Weapon)MP Up
Materia 1 (Armor)Time
Materia 2 (Armor)Magnify
Materia 3 (Armor)Poison
Materia 4 (Armor)Prayer
Weapon Skills 1MP Recovery Rate Up
Weapon Skills 2Lucky Jockey
Spell Shortcut 1 (L1 + Square)Let's Ride!
Spell Shortcut 2 (L1 + Triangle)Roll o' the Dice
Spell Shortcut 3 (L1 + Circle)Dodge 'n' Dive
Spell Shortcut 4 (L1 + X)Prayer

The Folio Nodes I recommend for the Enfeeble build is more or less the same as the previous one.

  • SOLDIER Moogle Class
  • Weapon Ability Damage Up
  • All Out Assault
  • Max HP Up
  • ATB Charge Rate Up
  • Moogle Sentinel
  • MP Recovery Rate Up
  • Max MP Up
  • Opening ATB Bonus
  • Mayhem-Go-Round
  • Elemental Defense Up
  • Stagger Siphon
  • Enhanced Guard
  • Moogle Head Start
  • Lucky Jockey

I made this build in-tandem with the Buff Party build. The difference is that this build gives Cait Sith more opportunities to exploit enemy weaknesses and increase his damage potential by applying constant debuffs and casting Gravity/Gravira/Graviga onto enemies.

Some bosses, like the Phoenix summon, buff themselves up, so it's essential you level the playing field. If there are bosses who attack way too frequently, you can cast Slow on them, giving your party more time to recover and prepare.

I also added Psychic's Charm to prevent enemies from afflicting Silence onto Cait Sith, since his kit revolves around casting various spells throughout the fight. The beauty with the Enfeeble build and the Buff Party build is that they are interchangeable, so you can quickly swap out spells right before your next boss battle, depending on what your party needs.

True Robot Build

Since Cait Sith's moogle is a robot, I figured this would be a fun build to explore. It takes inspiration from my A.I. Barret build, so you can expect to see a lot of "auto" materias included.

SlotsEquipment Name
WeaponYellow Megaphone
ArmorBeguiling Armlet
AccessoryPsychic's Charm/Spectral Cogwheel/Safety Bit
SummonPhoenix
Materia 1 (Weapon)Auto-Cast
Materia 2 (Weapon)Barrier
Materia 3 (Weapon)Auto-Unique Ability
Materia 4 (Weapon)MP Up
Materia 1 (Armor)Auto-Cast
Materia 2 (Armor)Prayer
Materia 3 (Armor)MP Up
Materia 4 (Armor)Auto-Weapon Ability
Weapon Skills 1MP Recovery Rate Up
Weapon Skills 2Moogle Sentinel
Spell Shortcut 1 (L1 + Square)Let's Ride!
Spell Shortcut 2 (L1 + Triangle)Roll o' the Dice
Spell Shortcut 3 (L1 + Circle)Dodge 'n' Dive
Spell Shortcut 4 (L1 + X)Prayer

Surprisingly, the Folio Node I made for this build is similar to the first two. This is because Cait Sith's abilities intertwine wonderfully with his Folio.

  • SOLDIER Moogle Class
  • Weapon Ability Damage Up
  • All Out Assault
  • Max HP Up
  • ATB Charge Rate Up
  • Moogle Sentinel
  • MP Recovery Rate Up
  • Max MP Up
  • Opening ATB Bonus
  • Mayhem-Go-Round
  • Elemental Defense Up
  • Stagger Siphon
  • Enhanced Guard
  • Moogle Head Start
  • Lucky Jockey

The True Robot build can do it all with minimal commands needed from the player. I tried this build so my Tifa/Yuffie and Cloud can completely focus on the enemy, while the A.I. Cait Sith can emphasize on supporting the entire party with buffs, and healing.

The Auto-Unique ability materia, ensures Cait Sith consistently uses Dropkick to charge up his Moogle Level. On the other hand, Auto-Weapon ability will allow the A.I. to automatically cast Roll o' the Dice for more support options.

The only thing to keep in mind with this build is you still have to cast Let's Ride at the beginning of the battle as it's not a unique nor a weapon ability. Also, if you want to build up enough ATB for Prayer, you need to control Cait Sith and build up the gauge yourself.
