FF7 Rebirth - How to play Aerith like a pro

You will switch between all the characters during the playthrough, and each of them plays differently. Aerith is one of the trickier characters to learn, because she almost completely relies on magic attacks. This guide will help you with choosing the best abilities and weapons for Aerith.

FF7 Rebirth - Aerith playstyle guide

Out of all FF7 Rebirth characters, Aerith is the most complicated to survive the beginnings. Her affinity to magic makes her weaker when it comes to physical attacks and she doesn't take damage well either. Aerith launches magic attacks from a distance, and she can combine magic attacks and unleash magic combinations.

FF7 Rebirth Aerith Tempest Guide

In Rebirth, Aerith can perform Tempest by holding the Square button, instead of Triangle. Tempest creates a prism-shaped object that explodes after a few moments. Landing the Tempest will give Aerith a big ATB boost and also allow for a Fleeting Familiar summon. This summon enhances Aerith's attacks, and also engages the targeted enemy units.

FF7 Rebirth Aerith Ward Shift Guide

Aerith gained a new ability called Ward Shift, during which she places a ward on the ground she can then teleport into. This new ability compensates for one of the Aerith's biggest downsides, her mobility. Now with Ward Shift she can instantly teleport around the battlefield, which is very useful for someone whose defense is weak and who fights from the distance.

FF7 Rebirth Aerith Best Spells

  • Soul Drain - Soul Drain is the spell that takes away the enemies' MP and gives it to Aerith. This spell basically replaces Ether, and can also damage enemy units. FF7 Rebirth Hard Mode disables all Items, so this ability becomes essential during the Hard playthrough.
  • Sorcerous Storm - This short-ranged magical attack is hitting multiple targets, which is very useful against enemies that are grouped.
  • Arcane Ward and Radiant Ward - These two spells are wards Aerith can place on the ground, but any group member can use it. Arcane Ward makes all attack spells cast within being cast twice without costing double MP. Radiant Ward makes the character that casts spells within the ward impervious to damage, so they can't be interrupted. This spell also improves Aerith's basic attacks. You can cast both Wards at once, even on top of each other, but we recommend to spread them apart and use Ward Shift so Aerith could have more mobility.
