All new Field Areas in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker

Take a peak at the area's you'll be exploring in Endwalker.

With new MMORPG expansions comes new areas to explore, and Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker is no different. In the most recent update to the game, four sprawling field areas have been added for your characters to explore.

Each has it's own unique character and design, from idyllic farmland to lush jungle to…well, the Moon itself! Keep reading to find out more about the new field areas in Endwalker.

Labyrinthos

A zone connected to Old Sharlayan, Labyrinthos seems peaceful on initial inspection. However, it is one of the brand-new field areas where players will encounter some of Eorzea's rarest creatures, collected by the Sharlayans to protect them from the upcoming calamity.

Thravnair

The island of Thravnair is the domain of the city of Radz-at-Han. Sometimes called the Near-East in-game, Thravnair is a realm of jungles, tropical animals, and monstrous beasts. You'll have to save Thravnair from destruction all while fending off the local wildlife.

Garlemald

Home to the Garlean Empire, one of the main antagonists of FFXIV, Garlemald is now a ruined, urban domain. Having been ravaged by civil war, the dangerous area is where the heroes will have to finally put an end to the evil empire that’s blighted them for four expansions.

Mare Lamentorum

The Moon! As Endwalker was first revealed in 2021, many latched onto the lunar imagery, certain our player characters were heading to the Moon. And the Moon they shall go, with the Mare Lamentorum, a fortress and surrounding area hidden on a celestial body.

(Spoiler Warning: The areas below were not revealed prior to the release of Endwalker and are major spoilers for the end of the game's Main Story Quest.)

Elpis

Travelling into the distance past, the Warrior of Light journeys to Elpis. There, you meet some familiar faces from the Shadowbringers storyline, except thousands of years in the past! Visit the seat of creation itself, and discover the origins of the world as we know it in this floating research station of the Ancients.

Ultima Thule

The grand stage of the final battles in Final Fantasy XIV, Ultima Thule is a ruined realm in the furthest reaches of the sea of stars. Made up of lost and ruined civilizations of the past, Ultima Thule is the location where you'll have to confront and defeat the game's hardest challenges yet.
