How to unlock the Corgi minion in Final Fantasy XIV

With the release of Patch 6.3 for Final Fantasy XIV, dozens of brand-new mounts and minions have entered the game. One of the most appealing is the incredibly cute Corgi minion, which is exactly what you’d expect, a cute corgi with an adorable scarf! Here’s how to unlock the Corgi minion

How to get the Corgi minion in FFXIV

To unlock the Corgi minion, you’ll need 400 Faux Leaves, the currency earned from playing Faux Hollows. Faux Hollows is a mini game structured like a battleship that challenges you to beat some of the most challenging fights of the past in Final Fantasy with their stats tuned up to level 90.

The Corgi minion is also marketable and tradable. This means you can get it by trading on the Marketplace. However, at the time of writing, the Corgi was either completely unavailable or cost in the region of a few million gil. This will likely lower the cost over time.

Unlocking Faux Hollows for Final Fantasy XIV

In Patch 6.3, the Faux Hollows trial is Containment Bay P1T6 (Unreal), which will see you take on the Meracydian goddess Sophia, who the Allagans have trapped — and she’s not too happy about it. You’ll need to ensure you’ve unlocked it. Containment Bay P1T6 (Unreal) will be unlocked by completing the normal Containment Bay P1T6. After this, you’ll find it in the Raid Finder section of the Duty Finder. Faux Hollows is unlocked by talking to the Painfully Ishgardian Man at X: 7, Y: 5.9 in Idyllshire.

Completing Unreal Trials will allow you to play Faux Hollows with the Faux Commander. By uncovering illustrations on the Faux Hollows board, you’ll receive Faux Leaves, which can then be exchanged for prizes, like the Corgi minion. Faux Leaves, just like most in-game rewards, reset every Tuesday at 1:00am PT.
