How to unlock the Megaloambystoma Axolotl mount in Final Fantasy XIV

As one of the most appealing and cute mounts ever introduced to the game, it’s only natural that the folks at Square Enix would lock it behind one of the most difficult pieces of content in Final Fantasy XIV. Yes, that’s right, the Megaloambystoma Axolotyl is a reward for completing one of the raids of Pandaemonium: Anabaseios on Savage difficulty.

Pandaemonium: Anabaseios (Savage) unlocked Tuesday, May 30, at 3am PT. It’s been implied that the Megaloambystoma mount is a rare drop in the Anabaseios: The Twelfth Circle (Savage) eight-man Raid.

What is the Megaloambystoma Axolotl mount in FFXIV?

The Megaloambystoma Axolotl is a giant version of the tiny Axolotl minion that was originally added in the Island Sanctuary content. Ambystoma is actually the scientific name for Axolotls, as they belong to the Ambystomatidae family. Hence, Megaloambystoma means, quite literally, "Giant Axolotl"!
