Housing is one of the most coveted resources in Final Fantasy XIV. While just about everyone wants a chance to get a place, many users in the Final Fantasy XIV ecosystem are without a home of their own and don't have a reasonable way to acquire them. Square Enix aims to fix this in patch 6.1
Square Enix details the newest housing district, Empyreum, in a recent post on their Twitter page. This Ishgardian residential district will see plots for sale alongside the 6.1 update to Final Fantasy XIV.
With 48 wards up in each world, there will be plenty of new homes for players to grab. However, players must first complete the Ascending to Empyreum sidequest to access the new housing district.
With new housing, players will have a lottery system that allows users an equal chance at the newly available plots. Players can submit a lottery entry for a property, and the winning applicant can purchase the house.
Square Enix shared more information on housing lotteries during their Letter from the Producer LIVE showcase on April 1. All residential districts will use the lottery system when Patch 6.1 goes live on April 12, and the Lottery period will last five days. Winning members of the Lottery have four days to claim their property before it gets relisted on the market for resale.
