For The King 2's multiplayer allows me and my friends to play together as different characters, whether online or offline. We prefer sitting on the same couch together, so we need to know how to play For The King 2 co-op offline.
How to play multiplayer offline mode For The King 2
While For The King 2 has a dedicated multiplayer mode, this is not the way I recommend using it if you want to play local multiplayer. Instead, start a new campaign as if you were making a single-player game. The reason I recommend this method is because it does not require you to make a server, and it keeps the game in an offline mode.
Additionally, regardless of how many players you want to play with, all players share the same input. You can plug in additional controllers, but each controller will control all characters and actions. It makes more sense to share a single controller or use the mouse and keyboard, as this limits the misinputs you could have with multiple controllers.

You can create a multiplayer game through a sewer, set it unlisted, and have players join. However, it is not really offline, even if all players are sitting in the same room. Inputs are still shared across all controls and players, even if you add a character with different controllers.
For The King 2 developer IronOak Games is aware of issues with multiplayer, both offline and online. It has already published numerous updates and fixes, which are detailed with patch notes. I expect a patch will address issues with online multiplayer and server issues but also resolve the shared inputs for all characters.
