Should you complete Tavern Brawl or Burn the Ship first in For The King 2?

Choices, choices...

New players to For The King 2 face a lot of unknowns, with precious little being clearly explained. For example, when yuo get the simultaneous quest Tavern Brawl and Burn the Ship, which should you do first?

You see that you’re on a timer, with Hildegard trying to hurry you up to complete her tasks. Below we’ll discuss how important the timer is in this rogue-like turn-based RPG and whether choosing one quest over the other matters.

The simple answer here is, where possible, you’ll want to complete Burn the Ship first. There are two reasons for this. First, it doesn’t involve a battle, so it doesn’t matter how strong you are. Second, it is good to use some Focus on the task to ensure you complete it in one action, so the earlier you do it the more likely it is you’ll have plenty of Focus to spare.

I’d suggest you don’t worry about the timer on these first tasks. You have plenty of time and the first area (with level zero enemies) is quite small. Concentrate on taking them out, getting your characters up to level one, while also taking down the ship. Note that the character who destroys the ship gets six XP, so if one is lagging behind let them do it if possible. Once your characters are level one and have some equipment, the Tavern Brawl should be relatively easy.

You should then keep tackling level-one mobs until your characters are level two before you Infiltrate the Guardhouse. This is because once that is complete, the timer will change. The next time keeps introducing unavoidable battles that ramp up in difficulty, at which point you will want to hurry things up!
