Fortnite Aquaman Challenges Guide – How to Unlock Aquaman

While it's not so much a secret, it looks like Aquaman is the mystery skin for Chapter 2: Season 3! We're taking a look at exactly what you'll need to know on how to get Aquaman in this brand new battle pass.

Obtaining the Aquaman skin isn't going to be too difficult, however, the process is a bit delayed because the challenges you need to complete are time-gated. That means you can only complete certain challenges when they are unlocked. The process appears to take at least a month, because each challenge unlocks on a weekly basis.

Aquaman Challenges List

Here's a look at the currently known Aquaman challenges:

  • Use a Whirlpool at The Fortilla (1)
  • Use a Fishing Pole to ride behind a Loot Shark at Sweaty Sands (1)
  • Catch different types of fish in a single match (2)
  • Complete the swimming Time Trial at Dirty Docks (1)
  • ???
  • ???

To earn the style, you'll need to complete an additional challenge while wearing the Aquaman outfit.

  • Dive over the waterfall at Gorgeous Gorge while wearing the Aquaman outfit (1)

Aquaman Challenges Guide

These challenges aren't going to be too difficult to complete. You'll just have to remember to complete each of them once it has been unlocked.

Use a Whirlpool at The Fortilla (1)

Head on over to the new Fortilla area on the map and look for a swirling area of white water. This is a new whirlpool mechanic that was added into the game for this season. Once you get close enough to it, you will be launched into the air! You can redeploy your glider once you are in the air, so it makes these a pretty good way to get around. They are pretty similar to the rifts that were in the game a while back.

Use a Fishing Pole to ride behind a Loot Shark at Sweaty Sands (1)

The new shark riding mechanic is now in the game, and you'll need a fishing rod to catch a lift. Just cast out the lure and try to land it in front of the shark. They will hopefully grab onto it and take you for a ride! Make sure to do it near Sweaty Sands to get credit for the challenge.

Catch different types of fish in a single match (2)

Not much to this one. Just grab a fishing pole, and cast out into the water for a fish. You can catch a Small Fry in open waters, and if you fish an active fishing hole you can catch a Flopper or Slurpfish!

Complete the swimming Time Trial at Dirty Docks (1)

You'll find the swimming time trial kind of in the middle of nowhere in the ocean on the west. Just head northeast from retail row into the big area of water that used to be Dirty Docks!

You'll see a glowing stopwatch icon that is near the large crane at the very south. Interact with that and just swim your way through the timers. You'll want to jump in and out of the water to gain speed bursts to complete the challenge.

  1. The 5th challenge will have to deal with The Shark. If you go to the challenges, and go to “Aquaman Challenges” there is a a circle over The Shark and it says it will unlocked in 4 days. The 6th challenge will most likely be “Complete All 5 challenges to get the following item:”

  2. There are no more sharks at Sweaty Sands for some reason. I was playing Solid Gold and there wasn’t any sharks, so I went into Solos to see if there are any sharks. Still nothing. I played like 5 solos and 10 Solid Gold matches.

  3. You missed one of the additional cosmetics. Sea Shaka emoticon is the 3rd reward, for catch different types of fish in a single match. I was looking at this page and confused why I didn’t have the Shell or Trident yet when I did 3 lol.
