Fortnite LTM List Guide – All Limited Time Modes!

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Our Fortnite LTM List features all of the LTMs that have been featured in the game throughout the history of Fortnite! LTM stands for Limited Time Mode, and they are a way for Epic to experiment with different things with the game engine. Features that were played with in the LTMs have eventually made their way into the game. Siphon is a good example, it was briefly apart of the main Battle Royale mode, and is now a permanent feature of Arena, which is the competitive mode in the game.

LTMs have once again returned to the game in the 15.10 Patch! We'll update any with updated descriptions once they are in the game.

Fortnite LTM List

The descriptions listed below are Epic's official summaries of the LTMs. I'll add notes if anything has changed with some of them. Some of the listed LTMs are from leaks, so they may not have been in the game yet!

Operation Snowdown

Operation Snowdown features a rotating batch of returning LTMs, as well as two brand new LTMs. The returning LTMs are as follows:

Operation Snowdown will feature a rotation of returning LTMs, including the fan-favorite Air Royale, plus the brand new Shockwave LTM, which sees players compete to knock each other into the (extra-strong) Storm as it shrinks down to nothing. Also, Pickaxe Frenzy will arrive in LTM form for the first time.

You can also play these LTMs via the Snowdown Shuffle, a playlist that’ll put you in one of them at random.

Not mentioned in the Official Epic Games Announcement above is The Spy Within, another brand new LTM. This LTM takes heavy inspiration from the popular indie hit, Among Us.

Summer Splash 2020

A new batch of LTMs will be coming soon, as well a whole bunch of the classics according to the details of the Summer Splash 2020 event:

Throughout Summer Splash, enjoy a rotation of LTMs such as Fog of War (formerly Sneaky Silencers), Close Encounters, Unvaulted, Catch! and more. You'll also notice these classic LTMs getting some Summer Splash refreshment with some new features.

Brand new LTMs will kick off in a future update and include new takes on Operation: Knockout, a reel 'em in royale, and a game of elimination-powered upgrades.

New Leaked LTM: "RACE"

This LTM was found in the files after the 13.20 Patch. It appears we'll be jumping into the new vehicles that are going to be added to the game at some point. Here's the description strings that were found in the files:

  • Race to the finish
  • Get to the finish line however you can
  • No points for second place
  • So faster is better More than one way to win
  • Take out the competition if it helps
  • Teleporting to the starting line

It looks like there will be a Police Car, Rally Car, Sports Car, and Taxi Cab to jump into when you're starting a race. This hasn't been officially announced yet, so we'll have additional details in the future.

50v50

Two teams of fifty players fight to the finish! This mode has extra loot and resources, a storm that is more lethal, and a shorter match length time than the standard Battle Royale modes. Each team drops from their own Battle Bus. Press jump to redeploy your glider when falling from large heights. Get in and help your team to victory!

This mode has the map, compass, storm timer and many other elements of the Heads Up Display turned off. Determining who is friendly and who isn't during firefights and staying away from the storm will be key to picking up a Victory Royale!

Blitz!

Blitz is a faster-paced version of Battle Royale. The match begins with the storm moving towards the island, and the delay between each circle is shorter than normal, creating matches that are 15 minutes long or less. The map also has extra loot and resources. Profile Stats count in this mode, so fight hard for the Victory Royale!

Builder's Paradise

All player-built structures have drastically increased health, but a true builder doesn’t break down walls, they edit through them! Neutral editing has been turned on to allow players to edit structures no matter which team placed them. And what kind of paradise would keep a builder short on supplies? Building material drop rates are increased to allow as much building as desired!

Catch!

In this mode, all guns have been removed. The only weapons are grenades and other items that can be thrown or tossed. Get in there and throw the enemies back to the lobby!

Each time a stone is found, Thanos & his army will grow more powerful. If all six are found, the heroes will no longer be able to respawn, and Thanos can eliminate those who remain to win. Chitauri will respawn when eliminated until their army is decimated. They must help Thanos find the stones before this happens to achieve victory.
