Arena Mode in Fortnite is where competitive players test their skills against each other. Plenty of players want to feel like they're of above average skill level and want to know at which point they can test that theory.
The answer is simple: You must be level 15 to take part in Arena Mode. This is the point in which you've clearly gained some experience and understand the game mechanics. If you haven't reached level 15, you can quickly reach that point by participating in matches and completing quests.
Once you have reached level 15, you will have access to Open League in Arena Mode, which allows players of all skill levels to take part. If you'd like to reach Contender and Champion level, you need to increase your hype in Open League.
