Raiden Shogun is the Electro Archon—a five-star polearm user who can change stances with her Elemental Burst. She's a puppet that acts as a vessel for Ei, who forever seeks eternity in the Plane of Euthymia. Raiden is easy to slot into any team in battle, simultaneously functioning as an off-field Support and Burst DPS.
Gameplay
Raiden Shogun's Elemental Skill deals AoE Electro Damage and summons an Eye of Stormy Judgement that will sit above your active character. It can deal off-field damage every 0.9 seconds whenever your active character uses any Attack. When this Skill is active, characters will also increase their Elemental Burst Damage based on its Energy Cost.
Meanwhile, Raiden Shogun's Elemental Burst turns her into a formidable DPS. She can gain Resolve stacks on her Chakra Desiderata every time team members use Elemental Bursts—with a maximum value of 60. The Resolve stacks gained per Energy depend on her Talent level. At level 10, this equates to 16 stacks for a Burst that costs 80 Energy.
The more stacks she has, the higher Raiden Shogun's Damage will be once she unleashes her Elemental Burst, which changes her weapon to a sword and allows her to deal AoE Electro Damage while the Burst is active. It also regenerates the party's Energy Recharge.
Weapon
Raiden Shogun needs a lot of Energy Recharge to accommodate her Burst, which costs 90 Energy—the most expensive in the game! As such, the five-star Engulfing Lightning is her best-in-slot weapon, as it contains an Energy Recharge substat while increasing the wielder's Attack based on their Energy Recharge and provides an Energy Recharge boost after using an Elemental Burst.
The Staff of Homa and Primordial Jade-Winged Spear are also great alternatives for a Burst DPS Raiden Shogun, but keep in mind that you need to keep her HP low to make good use of the former. Otherwise, the Skyward Spine is another Energy Recharge polearm that does a great job easing the burden on stacking this stat. Meanwhile, The Catch is Raiden Shogun's best four-star weapon.
Artifacts
The four-piece Emblem of Severed Fate is Raiden's best-in-slot Artifact Set, as it provides Energy Recharge and Elemental Burst Damage based on the wielder's Energy Recharge value.
- Two-piece: Energy Recharge +20 percent
- Four-piece: Increases Elemental Burst Damage by 25 percent of Energy Recharge. A maximum of 75 percent bonus DMG can be obtained in this way.
For Artifact substats, stack Energy Recharge until you get at least 200 percent. Opt for Attack Sands if you have an Energy Recharge weapon and the opposite if you have a Crit or Attack weapon. Stick to Electro Damage for the Goblet and choose a Crit Rate or Crit Damage Circlet based on the stat she lacks.
Best Team for Raiden Shogun
Raiden Shogun is best slotted into teams that crave Energy, such as the National Team. Her Elemental Skill is also amazing for triggering Electro-Charged reactions and providing extra DPS for fast-attacking characters, making her a perfect pair for Childe. Otherwise, Raiden is a versatile character who can fit into any team that requires off-field Support or an extra dose of Burst DPS.
