Based on early leaks, Collei is highly speculated to be many of Genshin Impact's firsts—the first Sumeru character to release, the first Dendro character, and the first character from the manga to become playable. And a new leak may just add to her roster of firsts.
According to a Twitter post by @dimbreath, remnants from the Version 2.5 beta indicate that the developers left information about an Elemental Burst Gadget for Collei.
Another Twitter user named @SaveYourPrimos pointed out that this new information proves that nothing has yet to indicate that Collei will receive a Vision, despite early leaks that she may become playable. This character first appeared in the Genshin Impact manga, where she suffered from being a test subject for Archon Residue experiments conducted by the Fatui.
In the final released chapter of the manga, she left for Sumeru to study medicine alongside Cyno, a scholar who appeared during the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview. As Collei was never revealed to have received a Vision during the incident in the Ludi Harpastum, it could be presumed that her playability will involve a new gameplay mechanic that allows her to use Elemental powers with the help of a Gadget.
Typically, characters who hold Visions are granted natural Elemental powers, removing the need for a Gadget to aid them in battle. The only exceptions to this rule are the Archons, who are gods themselves, and the Traveler, who manifests Elements through resonating with Statues of The Seven. If the speculation proves to be true, Collei would be the first known mortal to be able to use Elemental powers without a Vision.
Genshin Impact has yet to make any official announcements about Collei's playability and whether or not this year's Ludi Harpastum will follow the events of the manga. So stay tuned for more information as leakers continue to dig up crumbs from Sumeru.
