If you're like me, and didn't pre-download the game like people who know what they are doing, then you are looking at a pretty slow download rate if you are on PC. Well, after staring at the many hours it would take to finish, you might be wondering if there's a way to increase the speed of getting a chance to play this newly released game. Believe it or not, there's a really simple thing you can do to get the game installed a lot faster!
Increased Download Speed
To make your download go faster for Genshin Impact, all you need to do is pause the download and enable it again. While this sounds too simple to work, it has the possibility of speeding things up immensely. You might need to do it a few times, but you should eventually go from the lowly .2 MB/s to something like 1.3 MB/s which brings the download time down by many hours!
I was getting .2 - .3 MB/s before I used this trick, and after a couple of pause and restarts I was able to bump it up to 1.45 MB/s which is significantly better than waiting for 8 hours for the download to finish.
You can also try closing out of the game completely and opening it up again if the pausing and playing isn't working for you. I can tell you from experience though that it absolutely worked for me. I was looking at an eight hour wait for it to complete and this little trick dropped it down to an hour and a half!
Unfortunately, right now Genshin Impact is being downloaded all over the world and the servers are likely experiencing quite a bit of traffic. The game is off to a pretty incredible start, and we will see if it is able to continue this momentum into the future!
