How to get Baal/Raiden Shogun in Genshin Impact

Double trouble.

Some of Genshin Impact's most renowned characters include The Seven, which consists of Archons who rule over the seven nations of Teyvat. Inazuma is ruled by the Electro Archon, a position that was once held by a god named Baal—also known as Makoto. She ruled Inazuma until she perished during the cataclysm 500 years ago.

Following the events of the cataclysm, her twin sister, Beelzebub, who played as her body double, assumed the role of Electro Archon. However, when Beelzebub—also known Ei—ascended, she retained the name Baal, fooling Inazuma into thinking that the latter never perished. Meanwhile, Ei spent most of her time holed up in the Plane of Euthymia, leaving her puppet, the Raiden Shogun, to rule over Inazuma.

In this confusing web of affairs, what matters is that it's impossible to pull for the actual Baal (Makoto) in Genshin Impact, as she has already died. However, it's possible to pull for the Raiden Shogun, the puppet controlled by Beelzebub (Ei), whenever she's featured in the character event banner.

How to Get Raiden Shogun in Genshin Impact

You can pull for Raiden Shogun whenever her banner is on rate-up in the character event wish. Genshin Impact reruns typically happen every nine to 10 banners, but a growing cast of characters can push this schedule back further, as with Kamisato Ayaka, whose initial release and rerun were 13 banners apart.

Raiden Shogun's Banner History

  • Release: Sept. 1, 2021, to Sept. 21, 2021
  • First rerun: March 8, 2022, to March 29, 2022

With this schedule, the earliest second rerun for Raiden Shogun would fall around Oct. 4, 2022. But new character releases and other long-overdue reruns can delay this timeline.
