If you wanna be the very best, you've gotta catch 'em all.

If you've ever dreamed of adding some of the cute, furry friends roaming around Teyvat into your Serenitea Pot, now is your chance. So how do you obtain the Ubiquity Net and what does it do?

Obtaining the Ubiquity Net

Players of Genshin Impact will get their first taste of the Ubiquity Net through the event Bantan Sango Case Files: The Warrior Dog. To participate in the event, players must speak with the Bantan Sango Detective Agency in Inazuma.

Many of the local animals have mysteriously disappeared, and it's up to Paimon and the Traveler to find them. Players will investigate a series of locations around Inazuma, rescuing any kidnapped animals they find along the way.

The Bantan Sango Detective Agency supplies players with a temporary version of the Ubiquity Net to use for the duration of this event. The event ends on Dec. 20, 2021, at which point the gadget will disappear from your inventory.

Once the event has ended, a permanent version of the Ubiquity Net called the Omni-Ubiquity Net can be purchased from the NPC Wakamurasaki. She can be found near the Inazuma Fishing Association selling Nets for 10,000 Mora each, and up to a maximum of five can be purchased each week.

Using the Ubiquity and Omni-Ubiquity Nets

The Ubiquity Net can only be used for the event quests, and it will expire on Dec. 20, 2021. The Omni-Ubiquity Net, though, can be used to capture a wider selection of animals. Those animals are added to the player's Serenitea Pot as furnishing options when captured.

To use this new gadget, first, players must equip it. Both the Ubiquity Net and Omni-Ubiquity Net will replace the character's Elemental Skill while in use, and can be used by pressing the same button. It has the following effects when used:

  • Tapping the Skill button will fire the Ubiquity Net a short distance in front of the player
  • Holding the Skill button allows players to aim where the Ubiquity Net is fired. This will also increase the Net's range of capture

Capturing Wildlife

By checking the Archive, players can see which animals are able to be captured. Those pictured with a net in their frame or description can be captured, while the rest cannot. The current list of Birds and Beasts that can be captured is as follows:

Birds:

  • Crow
  • Crimson Finch
  • Emerald Finch
  • Golden Finch
  • Snow Finch
  • Black King Pigeon
  • Brightcrown Pigeon
  • Crimsonflank Pigeon
  • Graywing Pigeon
  • White Pigeon

Beasts:

  • Gray Snow Cat
  • Crimson Fox
  • Snow Fox
  • Kitsune
  • Sapphire
  • Snowboar
  • Squirrel
  • Red-Tailed Weasel
  • Snow Weasel

Players can expect for that list to grow as more animals are added in the future. Be sure to take a look at the archive, though, because the list above doesn't include Crystalflies or the various other critters players can capture. The current overall list will take about 8 weeks to complete.

Now that you're armed with newfound knowledge and a handy Ubiquity Net, it's time to start your quest to get out there and catch 'em all!
