The Bantan Sango Case Files: The Warrior Dog is the latest Inazuma-themed event to drop in Teyvat. It runs from Dec. 7, 2021 to Dec. 20, 2021, and is open to players Adventure Rank 30 and above who have completed the Archon Quest The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia.

Bantan Sango Case File: Mystery of the Black Shadow
Players who meet the prerequisites will automatically receive the Event Quest Bantan Sango Case File: Mystery of the Black Shadow. It starts at the Adventurer's Guild in Inazuma, where Katheryne sends you off to help the Bantan Sango Detective Agency in Hanamizaka, run by Sango and Ryuuji.
They tell you about a case of missing small animals. Sango will give you a new Gadget called the Ubiquity Net, which will help you capture the missing critters in specified locations.

Investigation #1
Follow the quest marker to the first investigation site in Tatarasuna, where Ryuuji will run you through the event mechanics. Your goal is to rescue three small animals in the area, which is heavily guarded by Canine Bunshin.
Stealth Radar
The Canine Bunshin have amazing senses that allow them to detect intruders within proximity. Luckily, approaching them will make their stealth radar visible. You'll be safe as long as you don't enter the red circle.
When you do enter the red circle, the Canine Bunshin will be alerted of your presence and begin to attack you. They don't deal much damage, but you also can't fight back. The small animals that need to be rescued will disappear from view when the Canine Bunshin are actively attacking you, so you need to get out of their radar.
Smoke Machines
In true ninja fashion, smoke machines have been installed around the area to keep you hidden from sight. Activating them will prevent the Canine Bunshin from detecting your presence, which will also calm them down if you accidentally engage in battle. Make good use of these machines by activating them whenever you see them.
Fireworks
Some fireworks machines have been placed around the Canine Bunshin's patrol area. Activate fireworks to distract the dogs to give you an opening to secure the small animals.
Omni-Ubiquity Net
The Omni-Ubiquity Net can be used to capture the small animals in this rescue operation. Small animals are marked by a horizontal light above their heads. While Canine Bunshin are also small and cute, they don't count as hostages in this event!
Start by equipping the Omni-Ubiquity Net from the Gadget Inventory.
- Step 1: Activate the Net using the Gadget button (Z for PC, click for Mobile, and L1 + O for PlayStation) after equipping.
- Step 2: Click the Elemental Skill button to quickly release the net at a small distance. Or hold the Elemental Skill button to aim the net toward a small animal at a longer distance.
Investigation #2
After completing the first investigation, follow the quest marker to the second investigation site north of Fort Fujitou. This part involves a small battle. Defeat the Treasure Hoarders and Kairagi to clear the camp.
Once that's done, interact with the two cages with small animals to free them. Completing the second investigation wraps up part one of the event.
Bantan Sango Case File: Stealthy Trail
After completing part one, part two will immediately prompt in your Quest menu. It starts by asking you to change the time to anywhere between 6:00 to 18:00 the next in-game day. Speak to Ryuuji, who'll provide you with leads for two more investigation sites.
The stealth segment is located in the islet east of Inazuma City, while the battle segment is located in Chinju Forest. Find the exact locations by clicking on the Event menu, selecting Event Details, and clicking on the navigation button beside each task.
When both rescue operations are done, head back to Ryuuji in the Bantan Sango Detective Agency to complete the quest.
Bantan Sango Case File: The Truth (Just About) Comes to Light
After completing part two, this quest will prompt you to wait until the next in-game day—anytime between 6:00 to 18:00—and speak to Ryuuji at the Bantan Sango Detective Agency. He'll send you to two locations to rescue more small animals.
The stealth investigation is located in the islet west of the Kujou Encampment. The shadow dogs are a lot stronger this time around and can summon roadblocks when you get caught.
Meanwhile, the battle segment is located east of Tatarasuna. Prepare to battle the Mirror Maiden, Kairaigi, and some Treasure Hoarders. After both are done, return to Ryuuji to report the events.
Bantan Sango Case File: Recognition
The fourth and final part of this event will trigger after completing the third. As always, fast-forward to one in-game day between 6:00 to 18:00. This time, speak to Sango in the Bantan Sango Detective Agency. She'll ask you to head to Ryuuji at Yashiori Island. Simply follow the quest marker and find him staring off a cliff.
After the dialogue, open the cage housing a sickly dog. Treasure Hoarders will appear—defeat them to continue the quest. Black Shadow, later revealed to be the ninken Kageroumaru, will appear. Follow him and enter the house to begin the Challenge: Canine Path.
Kageroumaru can use Electro Attacks but is not immune to the Element. Most of his hitboxes are marked with a red radar, so avoiding them can prevent you from taking damage. After defeating the ninken, leave the Challenge area and return to Sango in Hanamizaka to complete the event.
